Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

If you have an offer, don't even think about it

You are among the few lucky ones in this job market to land something else. Just take it and save yourself. I've been trying for months with no luck.

Rayturd, Moneywell ... a lot of employers have been burned by hiring deadwood or political game-players from these type of outfits and won't repeat their mistake.

I have to confirm that in 20 years of Honeywell never has the caliber of employees been so low. It the last 5 years it has been just ridiculous, it is like competence, qualifications and experience has been thrown out the window. An incredibly talented colleague who got pushed out in 2019 (that ended costing Honeywell an entire new product line) rang me up and offered me a job, think I said yes in 0.1 seconds!

No hesitation, if I saw Honeywell on a candidates resume within the last decade it is straight in the trash!

If I were representing a Fortune 100 company, I'd at least think that the potential hire as having experience with the necessary BS that is required in a Fortune 100 company. However, I can see Honeywell experience being a hindrance in a smaller, less encumbered company. Many of us have learned that we only need to pay minimal attention to company requirements to continued employments.

I'll tell you the reason why you ain't having any luck. Honeywell has such a bad reputation. You're affected by its reputation.

We all have attitudes, we don't show up for work on time, we take too many breaks, our brakes last forever, we don't follow process, lie, and we are very unethical.

Really good companies don't want the Honeywell toxic environment. I even had somebody tell me this during an interview.

I hate to tell you when you took a job at Honeywell. You basically ki-led your career. Just look at how we act towards others, when we're trying to push parts.

Honeywell on your resume is ki-ling you. Even if you don't fit in this boat. They just group us all together.

You'll be able to get another job. Unfortunately, you'll have to go to one of those places where they hired Honeywell management. Then you'll be treated the same way as you're being treated now.

You learn this at Honeywell. You thought it was the proper way to behave and act like. Far from the truth.

Then you got the bad habits. We learn from Honeywell. It also doesn't help when there's no accountability. They never write anybody up. When they don't follow company policies.
It's also applies when projects don't get done.

Why would you hire a Honeywell employee. Do you really want this to happen to your company.

Many wisely leave after a brief stint.

I can not tell you the change in my life since leaving Honeyhell, for the first time in years my work is actually meaningful again and my colleagues on a different level!
My wife says the change in me is amazing. On paper the salary was slightly less but in reality I have found myself financially far better of since my Health plan is so much cheaper for myself and my family and far more comprehensive. So many other little bonuses such as healthy subsidized lunches, gym access, regular social events and fixed bonuses so no more BS excuses for bonus cuts every year!! Man, get out, it actually can not be worse!!

Same boat here. First chance I get- leaving this extremely toxic company. There is NO WAY it ever gets better. It is like working in a viper pit. The vipers being management.

True, and I second that! Been looking to get out of my current field due to burnout, so will likely have to find the same role elsewhere just to get the h*ll out of HON. "Desperation never looked so good, huh?!"
