Comparing Chevron Corporation's CEO Compensation With The Industry
Our data indicates that Chevron Corporation has a market capitalization of US$295b, and total annual CEO compensation was reported as US$26m for the year to December 2023. We note that's an increase of 12% above last year. While we always look at total compensation first, our analysis shows that the salary component is less, at US$1.8m.

On comparing similar companies in the American Oil and Gas industry with market capitalizations above US$8.0b, we found that the median total CEO compensation was US$15m. This suggests that Mike Wirth is paid more than the median for the industry. Moreover, Mike Wirth also holds US$51m worth of Chevron stock directly under their own name, which reveals to us that they have a significant personal stake in the company

@1fpr There is plenty we can do about it. We (white collar, office workers) could organize and form a union. Do that and MW and his lackeys would fill their britches with brown stuff.

Oh, that might make the offshore people that only work half a year upset? Who cares. A company that relies on over 10,000 processes and procedures with 0 office staff? Good luck.

This stuff has been going on for eons and will continue. Sure MW got less cash compensation but it was more than made up for in stock options and other compensation. It's not hard to figure out. As long as the stock price stays level and the dividend is paid, MW will be rewarded. There is nothing you or I can do about it. It stinks.

Wow it really looks like @yhe is G@y for DJT and MW and knows and thinks a lot about their "man parts" since that's what always comes to his mind when they come up in these threads, lol! He must really desire to "svck them off" badly since that expression is noted in his previous easily identifiable posts. quit projecting, g@y dude. you know you want it.

I would much rather do all sorts of extensive irrelevant research all day about what others are earning at my company instead of working and doing more to improve my own value and salary. That way I'll stay jealous, butthurt and pathetic indefinitely.

The real details are best seen in the Chevron proxy. Mind numbing to try to read it all, but it is there online for anyone to try to decipher.

One thing I can figure out is cash compensation (hard to do the stock because it is all based on assumed stock prices over time). In 2022 MW cash compensation (salary + CIP) was $6.2 million. In 2023 it was $4.4 million. So he actually got ~28% less cash in 2023 than he did in 2022.

As I said, all the other stuff (stock, options, pension, etc.) is harder to compare apples-to apples because of actuarial and other assumptions.
