Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

A lot of worry in Claims

Weird vibes going around. A lot of leadership meetings, cancelled process meetings, and a hush hush atmosphere where leadership has distanced themselves. Something is afoot. Just an odd aura and feeling about things recently like something big about to happen. Many of us trying to get leaders to "accidentally" spill some tea.

I’m glad I’m not an Allstate customer. It’s disheartening when a company outsources, maybe I’m old fashioned but I stand by companies that hire US workers and don’t just think of the cheap way out. Very disappointing that I have no trust in the place I work.

@1zlu+1o7UzjTy That explains the email about how we want to be recognized. I guess the applause program isn’t working.

@1oce+1o7UzjTy That was a company wide bonus leader meeting that talked about engaging teams in different locations, good leadership advice, navigating change. It was just a development opportunity for leaders and had nothing to do with any rumors. Not everything is part of the conspiracy.

Something is afoot. There is a meeting today for leaders regarding “leading thru change”. HR, Talent Mgmt as well as Allstate India, Nat Gen and allstate as a panel to discuss transformation and culture

Gives a new meaning to "The Quote" from Dr Evil.

It's been a bumpy ride (to the new offshore claim center in Punjab) but we have executed (our US workforce jobs) well. Executed as in axed.

TG has some custom Christmas cards coming on pink paper stock...

Forget union talk, won’t matter…..anyone who’s paid attention realizes that at some point near 1-1-24 all of Allstate’s claim functions will be handled out of Pune with Concentrix providing vendor support when needed. There will be ZERO stateside Allstate claims employees around New Years Day which is when the Concentrix agreement to takeover begins.

You're never going to get 30% of the work force to sign off on a union. As much as I would like to see it happen. Too many scared and defeated cowards left in this company just swallowing what Wilson gives them to swallow.

You id--ts cannot "strike" without a union. And these a--hats that run this company WILL fire everyone that would "strike" and just throw the work on those that don't making Claims more of a living He-l until the offshoring and layoffs occur. Their massive inflated egos and grandeurs of self importance would no permit them not to terminate everyone despite the consequences for these "peons" dare challenging the great and powerful Allstate.

For all you TW a-s kissers. If the entire claims dept goes on strike, all production comes to a complete stop! Allstate will not fire everyone who went on strike. They don’t have anyone to continue the work yet. We have nothing to lose. Soon we are all getting replaced by AllPune & overseas vendors. This would be a great way to get media coverage on Allsnake!!!

@1flo+1o7UzjTy You are 100% right. But Allstate has squashed and terminated employees in the past for unionization attempts. Several times. Since when has this vile company cared about obeying the law? Preaching the law only makes sense when the party that you are preaching about cares about obeying and adhering to such law.

It’s actually illegal for an employer to fire you for showing interest and/or joining a union. Even making a correlation between union/individual/termination is not legal. Employers can not try to discourage/threaten or impede ANY potential union activity. For a union to be recognized as the representative for its members it requires 30% of the total employees to sign cards/petition that they want a union.

Allstate would love for you to "strike". Then they can terminate you for insubordination and not have to worry about paying severance when they make the announcements over the next month. You'd be playin right into their hands and they would thank you for it. And in many states your termination would disqualify you for unemployment as well which Allstate pays a lot of.

So go ahead, strike then and see how you make out.

I’m not surprised, but I know nothing. I asked if my work was being taken away and got a stupid smile with no answer. What about the CCO. The transparency is stifling.

They told us months ago they are doing an India “test” for Virtual Auto. Not sure how well that’s going, they’ve been trying to move auto damage to India for years but they F it up so bad even Allstate won’t fully move it lol.

Not trying to induce fear at all. Just expressing what many of us in Claims are feeling and seeing, And it doesn't help that employees from India are now involved in almost all our meetings and in our work files doing some of the work. If nothing happens then so be it but things are NOT normal here.

Weird cusevim in claims and get none of those vibes. Want to cite specifics or just continue to talk in generalities hoping to induce fear
