What the he-l is the purpose of a golf ambassador? How much did this sponsorship cost and how many employees didn’t get raises or had their VC cut short because of this?

@1f8 now the Denver closure makes sense. Have to pay some dude who didn't even crack the top 10 in the Masters - but wore some rather interesting shirts, most of their salaries.
I can confirm we spent more money on this than the stupid song. More money to waste and let layoff another team so we can pay for sponsorships.
@wa TIAA needs a new and better looking logo !
I think it’s excellent for brand recognition. When I watch golf I sometimes google the sponsors to see what they’re all about.
Ultimately, they may want to change their name though. It’s just not memorable.
@g0 he was previously on the Chutes half and now on the ladder.
lol 😂

@fx “ladder half”? lol
Makes complete sense actually. Golf is played and backed by the upper class and rich. Jason day is a big name. He's on the ladder half of his career but he's a hall of famer. Having the tiaa/nuveen logo at golf events is a smart play
I'm no fan of the marketing strategies but this one isn't terrible on the surface. I think it does open up the door to attract younger clients and in a more organic/not gimmicky way
Jason Day was the #1 ranked golfer in the world previously. It’s a big name in the golf world.
Why sponsor him? More exposure and brand recognition.
@OP I never heard of Jason Day and this sponsorship will probably be as much of a failure as Paper Right and The Dress but it’s paid from the Marketing budget, not Compensation.
