If you're a remote worker, watch out for layoffs. There aren't many left, and the goal is to have zero. FM used to be a decent place to work - now Pulte has turned it into a joke.

There are still pockets of remote employees in IT. Ed, Francine, Kristen and others. No idea why they are safe and we were let go. I used to work with teams who did practically nothing but wrote Jira stories on what they would do if they had time.
@1ee "Adopting Gen AI" meeting today. Developers to use GitHub CoPilot so that it can learn how to code in the Freddie environment. They are being forced to train their replacement, just like prior engineers being forced to train their Indian replacements.
@e9 this statement is correct. They laid off a bunch remote workers. People I used to work with and have been there for 6 years plus.
The finance industry is known to employee Indian workers, much like big tech. FM does employee over 50%+ of their employees from Indian descent.

Freddie Mac is making a net profit in the billions of dollars every quarter. What need is there for this massive, ongoing reduction in force campaign? None, except someone like Bill Pulte, who it was an obvious mistake to put in charge, making changes that will absolutely damage future earnings. Oh, he'll make gains in the short term, in the long term he is ph*kng the USA.
