Thread regarding MetLife Inc. layoffs

What was the point of agile? Did Met finally give up?

For years we have been pushed to transform and modernize culture yet no matter how many trainings and town halls and initiatives, we’ve actually taken steps back as a culture. Met culture is stuck on the 90’s and the DEI is nothing but ornament. Why did we even bother if there was no intent to save the culture?

The secret word is: "New Frontier".

Take one word from the first column, and match it with one word from the second.
New Bar
Next Future
Raise Horizon
Journey To Frontier

Future of Work group found Met was and is very far behind the times. Should anyone invest in a company that still follows management theory X and cut the bottom 10%? Upstairs/downstairs culture? Nepo sycophant party.

Forget agile, MetLife gave up on being a serious company long ago.

Also to the person saying this site used to be great, your comment is useless, so maybe look in a mirror if you want someone blame.

This site does provide Intel, genuine Intel. Not the rainbows and lollipops culture HR wants us to believe exists. Just because you don't agree with the comments, doesn't make it "stirring up drama" or untrue. You are getting this same exact feedback on your numerous internal surveys, but refuse to address the truth. You put us through mandatory annual training that perception is how we feel towards something, not how you think we should feel.

This organization doesn't really know what Agile is. To them it's a se-y term that gives them license to say "we won't/don't/can't actually do any REAL planning and execution, we'll just BS our way through and call it Agile.
The actual progenitors of Agile designed it to help software development teams speed up their delivery of functionality for product owners. Not for every d-mb twat to latch on and sound edgy, cool, and progressive. Bunch of woke mind virus infected toadies who along with their nepotistic brethren push the narrative to keep everyone else asleep.

Sounds like HR is reading and posting on this site.

To me, the point isn't that the company is creating drama around a new slogan; it's that the slogans are all inane.

It’s not a secret. It was shared publicly in the analyst call. Fine that you don’t have time or interest to listen to it but don’t create a whole narrative around the company holding back something that most of us know.

Honestly this site used to be great for getting intel but now there is too much drumming up reasons to complain. If it’s so bad here, why do you stay? Not being flip with that question. Genuinely asking.

It was all a dog and pony show for the shareholders. Next Horizon, Winning the Future, Raise the Bar. There is a new catch phrase they will share with employees in December, but no sooner! Only the super duper, holier than thou associates are privy to it now.
