To the people that have spilled insider comments on other threads for certain centers... which departments are full time work from home and which are hybrid?

That is true @1dta. Plus main hubs and sites like Hudson house very complex, reinforced, and secure server systems for the entire company that would cost the company millions of dollars to try and relocate and construct similar detailed and secure infrastructure for.
@1dmv I would assume that the selling of the buildings and real estate is not going well considering many other companies are also trying to unload their buildings and real estate due to the pandemic and the new norm of remote working. You can't sell it if there aren't buyers.
I’m not sure why they wouldn’t just sell the buildings or real estate they own, but... that is too smart for them.
It was strongly implied to us that buildings and real estate that Allstate owns and is paying to maintain or that they are paying contracted leases for must soon be occupied in part to justify these costs. Basically they do not want what they are putting money into to just sit there empty and vacant and want workers in using it.
Unfortunately, whatever your role, you need to assume the worst. We know 1) Allstate has a fixed real estate/office cost for a given number of years at each location. 2) Allstate wants to reduce headcount. 3) Allstate will use any and all tactics available to reduce costs. The most likely scenario is that if you work at a location subject to #1, they will force you back to the office (#3) to help them with #2.
They are going to keep us waiting until next week unfortunately. All of it is speculation at this point.
If it’s hybrid at least I have 3 months to look for a new job before July.
I won't be returning to the office. No way. The reasons being given why returning to the office is even being done are Allstate wants property they are paying to maintain and run need to be occupied and in use and they claim productivity and quality of work has declined with the move to home and more in person management and performance coaching is needed.
Yeah.
I am not sure if they are wanting to do this to be difficult or what. Seems they want to cause us a headache and spend more money.
I'm not going back into the office either. I have the equipment already set up fine at home so as long as I log on and work like I have been for the last year they can deal with it. Also the new variant of the virus is actually more communicable and resistant to the current vaccines. Plus last I knew there is still a health emergency and stay home order in place in my state.
Yes, they can require you to be vaccinated as a condition of your employment. I know personally of at least two major companies that are requiring their employees to be vaccinated for COVID by a certain time in order to keep your job.
Luckily remote jobs are plentiful after big wig corporations (excluding Allstate) realized their employees are just as efficient if not more and are fulfilled.
Don’t sweat this place and if they make you go back go search indeed for another job.
Lol imagine how many people they will lose.
Most companies that have went remote during the pandemic are staying remote because they realized they saved dollars.
Allstate isn’t smart.
Pune=India?
When your job is in Pune in about 3-6 months, the worries about going back to the office are going to seem quaint.
Trust me. (get those resumes updated)
They have been encouraging people to get the vaccine and use pto to get it..
What about those people that are skeptical of it? Are they going to require people get it to return to the office? Seems a bit illegal.
They can say what they want but I'm not returning to the office. It is still not safe and the last people I would entrust my health and safety in are the clowns in Allstate management. If they try to make me I will contact the health board and start looking for a new work from home job. And they can't lose many more of us in our department or nothing will get done.
Thank you for explaining.
I am an underwriter.
It is not by department but by role. If you were in office before and your corporate owned building or hub is still open then you will be hybrid alternating days in office. With a few exceptions if your role was home based prior then you will remain home based. In short if you were getting reimbursed for internet prior to the pandemic then you will be home based. If not then you will be hybrid. If you were in office and your office is no longer going to be occupied or is not Allstate owned then you will be work from home permanently. Your management team already knows your specifics and it will be communicated in the next few weeks as to where you fall and when back in office will begin.
All I know is I'm going to remain WFH or I'm going to be working somewhere else.
