20 + years on now. I was in a RIF once about 15 years ago. Honestly, I just keep my head down and work. Worry doesn’t help, been there and done that…. It doesn’t help anything. If you are on the chopping block, your fate is sealed…. No sense expending energy on when the next RIF is. But if you see an opportunity, grab it… that’s what I’ve always done. Oh and make them pay for your education… just keep going on their dime, then when the RIF comes you’re armed with a masters or two.

Communications are horrible on the dr-g side. No one knows who is next and who they will report to and HR is not at all helpful. At some point the leadership not the middle management needs to answer for the lack of progress and transparency.

I have been paranoid of being laid off for probably two years now. Recent events in the past two weeks makes me think the paranoia is warranted this time. 3/4 of our workload has been cut out of nowhere. Our work is being taken by other departments when we’ve had no issues keeping up with volume.. I found that out on my own since we weren’t told. We aren’t included in any meetings outside of our team and aren’t kept up to date on changes. Lots of sneaky things going on
