Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

CEO is quiet

Where’s the CEO? Nowhere to be found. he’s not talking with employees thru town halls anymore. Last CEO town hall was December ‘22.

New CEO was decided. It was posted in this forum, removed after couple of day's! Of course because Mr shouty is now the chairman of the board . Thats not replacing the head, thats putting another name to take the heat. Same direction , the board steal all you can from the company and go away rich and who cares about customers and the employee's

Consider him already gone...
Contract renewal, which is due in September I guess, UNLIKELY.
Negotiations about severance package (golden handshake) and handover timeframe to new CEO ongoing...
Search for new CEO since beginning of the year...

You're spot on, but I would say that they have never succeeded at 'optimising costs' - the financials show it clearly - they've reduced 'operating expenses' by 40% over the last 5 years...but the profit has dropped by 66% in the same timeframe.

Sure, customers are pushing for tighter and tighter margins, but wasnt the same guy the one that said we weren't going to sign contracts that didn't make sense ?

Bottom line is that he's quiet and missing because he doesn't have any answers for the questions he knows are being asked. If you've heard the old joke 'Prepare three envelopes;, well, I think we're onto #3...

Not showing staff any respect through lack of communication over the performance and cost cutting is either because he sees no importance in his staff, a sign of weakness to face the workforce or utter contempt for the workforce. Anyone who ends up shouting at his own staff is someone who has already lost control and empathy and likely is frustrated by the fact that he doesn’t know how to achieve what he wants to achieve whilst under pressure from investors and staff to deliver and grow the business.

The market has changed significantly and with the global economic challenges, DXC may be regretted spreading themselves far and wide with all those acquisitions which have just not been properly integrated to maximise value and ‘seize the market’

There are too many broken processes and tools that seemingly can’t be fixed and a lack of resource to fulfil customer demand. Attrition has already peaked at 24% (about the same as the share price these days) and with the continued cost cutting, to keep pace with the losses, it just makes for a very uncomfortable journey for everyone who need some assurance from the top as to what the h3ll is going on. Obviously if your top guy has buried himself deep in his bunker then confidence will drift further and attrition will rise. Which is kind of what they want.

DXC will need to generate some dividends next quarter to avoid a complete loss of investor confidence, but it won’t be as a result of growth. We know that. It is likely as a result of yet another huge cost take out. And although they keep announcing cost take out with pride, they are not optimising costs by removing wasteful processes, admin and clunky old systems to gain productivity - because they have already proved they don’t know how to fix those things - they are having to do it by removing billable staff.

Sad times.

The longer he leaves it the worse it gets... he should have held a town hall as normal in the following quarter. Even if he totally doged his shouty response... now we're all suspicious of where he is.. and wondering the the chuff is going on with this company.

Terrible that we haven't had any kind of communication regarding the earnings call and also nothing to do with pay rises from him / our managers etc and no official announcement about cuts - not that they would announce they are making 100s redundant, but at least come out and make some statement like 'earnings weren't the best, were still on the journey, overall economy bad for everyone/other companies, unfortunately no pay rise, need to tightest belt and ride out this tough period etc'

But no.. he vanished off face of earth with his big stash of €£¥₩$ and no longer has my respect, I didn't mind him when he first took over... but now I think he is a see you next Tuesday.

You would think after the Stock holder meeting and the Investor meetings were made public that we would have a townhall explaining what was said in terms us techies can understand and how it affects the promise of know if we got an increase and how much by August 1 2022.

He failed DXC Values, Do what you say your going to do and Do the right thing? All that with his 28 million dollars

I'm not a fan of Shouty McShoutyface but to be accurate his last town hall was February, that was the one where he lost his temper and shouted at us all for daring to ask him about salary, and is probably why we've not had one since.
