Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

I'm guessing we don't have to worry about layoffs anymore?

I was worried that if not enough people accepted the buyout offer, we'd have an involuntary round after. But if the rumors are true, there are more than enough already, even more than required, which should mean those of us who'd like to stay are safe. Or so I hope.

People, ride Avaya to the end, sort of like Leonardo did on the Titantic! Titantic breaks in half and Leonardo and Kate are on the bow high up in the air which eventually sinks. When they hit the water, they swam up as fast as they could. Ride it down and don't get su-ked under water - swim up. I took a package a year ago and land a much better job but I will tell you that there are not a lot of jobs out there and competition is fierce because many companies are reducing workforce..... Maybe someone will buy Avaya in a fire sale and you will end up at another good respectable company. So if you have a job, hold onto it and ride the Titantic down!!!!!

Who would buy Avaya. Top 500 customers? The company is no longer in telecom, but rather smoke and mirrors. Infinity is a joke. Patrick Dennis knows nothing, but how to sit on top of a lost company as it unravels to nothingness.

Don’t get comfortable. They don’t care about you. I was there over 20 years and dumped a ton of us with no warning or care

Between the endless layoffs, the massive voluntary severance package, and lack of backfilling it kind of looks like Avaya is dumping excess weight in preparation to be sold off

Despite all the layoffs there are still many people at avaya doing very little other than pretending to be busy......

Avaya is on its way out. This recent round of layoffs, voluntary or not, reinforces the fact that there isn't enough people to do the job. If you think customers do not know this then you are fooling yourself. The ongoing process of trying to move services to Sabio isn't going to help as Sabio isn't the best at delivery themselves.

Nope. Everyone will be gone. Even if they think they are "safe with the staffing" now, they'll be impacted once the customer experience gets worse, and it will just be rinse, repeat, until nothing is left.

You’re still at Avaya? You honestly should be interviewing and have bailed years ago. What’s the play here.... waiting for desk phones to make a comeback?

All those birthday parties you attended as a kid, all those times you played musical chairs. Little did you know you were preparing for your career at Avaya.
