@1bv The company I used to work for used this same argument 20 years ago when they laid off all the LPN's. Ironically enough, I started working with Humana afterward. IT'S JUST ANOTHER BS EXCUSE.

@qk as an LPN with 25 years of UM/UR experience on both sides, hospital and insurance, scoring 100% on every IRR, compliments from RMDs on my reviews, top evaluations given by my manager and a few awards along the way, I can assure you I am qualified. The reason of LPNs doing reviews is in non compliance, what I (we) were told, so why all of a sudden after doing reviews for years, who knows no answers given. Why not retain your experienced LPNs and as they left, fill position with RN. But never fear, RNs will be affected by RIFs too.

I agree with the LPN decision. LPN’s don’t have the extensive training and education to do clinical reviews. They could have told the sooner.

Demoted LPNs to UM3 and told
Them they can no longer do
Medical reviews.

I have not heard anything good but who knows what is actually coming down the pipe line. After name changes may be RIFs so just be ready not matter what for next round
