heard there were some more stealth layoffs today
WARN notices are usually posted at 5PM the day prior.
Sometimes the media picks it up and it gets published.
Since they aren't required to offer up pkgs ASKING for volunteers, why would they do it? The law says they can 'let you go for any reason at any time'. Look it up.
If WS is offering a better severance package now. It will more than likely be short lived. I hear them crying out abandon ship at this moment. As all the rats are making their way to the lifeboats. Everybody really should have their resume up to date and ready to hand out at this point.

Still no warn notice? My guess is that they will time the 60 day warn act notice with any major layoff announcement. Its not good for business to put something like that out in public. Maybe they publish it through stream only.

One thing that was mentioned in passing was offering packages to union members in ILEC.
For the one who said get your head out of the sand....get yours out of your a$$. It's true and very common when a company is going through BK. They will be asking people to step up and take what's offered before a higher layoff. Make no mistake about it things are about to change here at Windstream....

I was told a similar story. Sounds like they are going after more senior people that have been around
since the PAETEC/VOX days. Benefits and vacation will also be paid out if you take a package now vs later.
I'm guessing it's easier to ask people to leave now vs later with a big layoff in March.
