It's a Wonderful World

@2b8 I just found that post which slammed management and work-life balance which doesnt' surprise me at all given all the work and projects the CPMs now have. The company will be mostly non-domestic workers at some point - modern day sweat shop?

Saw a recent 1/5 rating on Glassdoor by an Indian CPM. Ironic and hilarious.

@226 they already had CPI to take over majority off daily project tasks. They probably will assign them full time, and layoff US CPMs.

@234 yup, a CM who worked at Cengage for 25 years got laid off. Tenure is positively correlated with the probability of termination!

Correction, people that have worked at cengage from 8-44 years. Wow.

Another thing of note, a lot of the people that were laid off had anywhere from 8-17 years working at cengage. Not sure wha the significance of that is but thought it was worth highlighting

4 - digital tech content operations
11 - anz/school
1 - core

This is in addition to the listed onesbeneath. A lot of mentions of new positions opening up and teams being replaced by offshore employees.

Overall, smaller cuts than last year but I wouldn't be surprised these become more frequent. Last year broke the pattern where layoffs occurred only around earnings so im assuming that will continue this year.

@1zb - They will definitely get rid of all Content Managers eventually, just taking their sweet time.

There's a reorg in higher ed digital. At least two were let go. Anyone know if any other cuts occurred elsewhere in the company?

@10e Can you be clearer and avoid the word salad please. So, to confirm, nobody who works at Cengage will be losing their jobs?

Greetings,

Let me be clear, there will be no layoffs. We will be making resource adjustments and reallocations to better serve our customers. By transitioning to a leaner, more agile organization, we will be in an even stronger position to transform the way students learn.

Full Stop!
