I contemplated leaving off and on for the last 2 years. I keep in touch with former colleagues who have moved on as well as friends and family who are well into their careers. The consensus always seems to be the same. No one is happy with their job and the common thread is that everyone is expected to work more for less. Corporations always cut employees but not their workload which is always thrown onto others. So what’s the point of leaving Allstate to fall into the same situation elsewhere?

Progressive is way better . Made the move during layoffs . They hired 4 of us as auto field techs..MRRs. Glad we moved over . Was sick of reinspectiond like 3-4 times a week at Allstate . Constant micromanaging of our estimates . Always questioning our estimates nonstop .
Uh… leave insurance .. insurance companies will be the same
More or less.. just get out of the industry
@1atr+1cnCdJBD Which carrier did you go to?
I went to progressive and love it!
Oh god this is the biggest train wreck I’ve ever worked at…..
After 6 years at Allstate moved on to a different carrier, work from home. A little less pay but amount of hours needed is way less which for me was worth it. Also no one constantly riding you about production and metrics. Managers low key and enjoyable to work with, no belittling attitudes. Benefits, PTO, almost the same. For me this was a good move, sanity and serenity returned quickly. Not saying this is always the outcome but so much better off now than with the chaos at Allstate. The training and experience Allstate provided was a windfall for an up and coming carrier. Good luck all of you.
Get out of insurance, that's your best bet
State Farm and Allstate are the worst. It’s worth jumping ship. I’m working less and making 30% more!
The other forums on here for other carriers are nearly empty. Their employees aren’t motivated to post online unless maybe there is another forum out there? This company is truly making some outright bizarre moves. I have faith things will be corrected though and we will be stronger for having stuck things out!
The grass is greener.
Compensation. Appreciation. Better culture.
I'm sure this happens sometimes but not often. Bottom line, if you're unhappy with your job, you have the power and responsibility to do something about it. If you make a move and it's not what you thought it'd be, then make another move. Or, if that's too scary, don't.
No! Do NOT allow yourself to fall for that garbage. The grass IS greener. Put yourself out there and jump. Trust me.
Working for someone is only so different from place to place.
I’m at a competitor and it’s not the same here, much better.
