Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

New normal?

More work for the same money is by design and is now expected of you and is your new norm. You have been devalued by design. And as tired as you are of working long hours they don’t care and this is again expected of you and this friend is your new normal at Allstate.

_post @ybu+19cdo1F8 ___ I haven’t been in this company for a long time and I probably won’t stay here for a long time, but I wonder what is this “new normal” in Allstate, which was unthinkable a few years ago? Does anyone remember better days here?

@1asv+19dP3sry As someone who’s very well aware of contested claims with UE and UN terminations those that brought the documentation and fell in the protected class category fared better. Advising someone to be used and abused with no push back sounds like corporate spin.

This is how it is now. You will do what you're told at the level and rate you are told or you will be shown the door with no severance and will have to fight for your unemployment. This is in a way a quicksand sort of layoff with no benefits. All planned. If one chooses to stay with Big Blue this is your way of life now. And the more the masses complain the quicker the roles will be moved to India where they will do the same level of work at a much lower quality (no home office doesn't care, it just affects the customer is all) for pennies on the dollar while Tom and Glenn get richer. Are you in good hands?

Unless you moonlight as a skilled employment attorney that is just about the worst advice on the planet. Either work to meet the performance goals set for your role, or prepared to get canned. And guess what, Allstate spends millions on blue chip corporate employment law firms. These hi powered attorneys will laugh themselves silly over your little journal.

Beat them at their own game, document your daily activity via journal. Work 8 hours, do just enough and leave the rest for tomorrow. If you are given a UN, refer to your documentation and respond in writing to your manager. Layoffs for every department are inevitable but severance and unemployment you WILL have to fight for, don’t let them push you out the door and discard you. Document, document, document you’ll thank me later.
