Trump Tariffs & Trade (TTT or T³) - March 4 2025

It seems the T³ will come into effect March 4, 2025. We don't expect that the tariffs on Canada's most important export Oil and Gas will last for long. The tariffs on the other sectors in Canada WILL remain. We have a strong Premier here in Alberta. Our future Prime Minister Pierre Poilievre will work hard for the interests of Alberta. The economy of Alberta is the most important one within Canada. From the tax base based on our income taxes Alberta tax payers contribute the most in transfer payments to Quebec and the rest of Canada. You look after Alberta and the rest of the economy will fall into place.

This is the wrong time to introduce any carbon levy. We here in Alberta know climate change is not real. Oil and gas do not have a negative effect on the environment we all know this. I expect minimal effects to the Alberta economy and things to recover within a week. The other industries in Canada will see a 25% tariff and a slight decrease to their economy. It should be noted we here in Alberta have a greater share of exports than the rest of the country. My question is to the rest of the country what are you doing to assist the Alberta economy? You have benefited from more equalization payments than Alberta has ever received. It is now time to help look after Alberta. We would like to see an Action place to get the economy of Alberta kickstart the engine of the rest of the country.

Totally correct. Canadian politicians are not trying to work with the USA to resolve this issue regarding unfair trade that Canada has had.

I’ve noticed only the UCP here in Alberta and the Conservative Party nationally are truly working for Canada. They want to resolve this issue in the best possible way.

Threats to cut off oil will only lead to more issues. Canada needs to work in a diplomatic way and not impose restrictions on the USA and US based companies.

Canadian politicians are not looking forward, they are making threatening remarks. They must be careful and approach this with high level of diplomacy and persuasive intelligence. But they all lacking it.

It looks like Carney will be the new PM. He is not qualified nor has the skills to deal with Trump. He does not have Alberta interest at heart. We need a strong stable conservative majority government under the leadership of Pierre Polievere to navigate any political issues that may arise.

Canada is broken as our future prime minister has noted. He has the skills and experience to bring us back to the fold.

Doug Ford from Ontario is trying to tell us what to do in terms of tariff trade and potential retaliation. He has no idea how Alberta economy works. Canada needs to understand and work with Alberta instead of against us. Canada has always been arrogant towards us since we joined confederation which may have been the biggest mistake of our province since September 1, 1905 when we became a province. Canada has never taken the time to really understand Alberta. We have always bent over for the rest of Canada. For once Canada should listen and consider Alberta before bulling us.

Totally agree,
The rest of Canada as usual is ignoring Alberta. It is our economy that is the engine that drives the rest of the country. They should NOT turn off the Taps to Alberta oil and gas. You can stop exports of Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada goods and services. If you touch or make Alberta resources part of your trade war you will have a constitutional crisis on your hand.

Once again the rest of Canada is ignoring Alberta. We provide more in equalization than to
