I recently received notice that I will be laid off. Can anyone share their experiences or insights regarding severance packages? Specifically, I am wondering if the standard is 1 week or 2 weeks of severance pay per year of service. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thx

I'm very sorry.
I wish you and others well in moving forward. I will be starting a new job tomorrow after almost 8 months. Had to take a pay cut, BUT it is better than nothing.
Godspeed to everyone affected.
yes I am sure I was laid off. I am with a health plan and we lost our Medicaid product in big cities, my situation was probably different. I have known since May 2024. We were given option to apply to internal roles, wait and see for severance or leave the company.
after posting on here our director met with the remaining team individually to give us severance details.
Are you sure you were laid off? This information should be in your WorkDay almost immediately after being notified. Severance calculation and amount, last day at "onsite," last day of work (no, in my case they were not the same), and benefits (COBRA)
I also think the severance is based on pay grade, in addition to length of time working there. It's going to vary greatly. Normally they give you all of that paper work with the details on severance, COBRA insurance, etc on the day you find out you are being terminated. At least they did when 3000 of us got cut loose during the pandemic in 2021. I'd ask HR when that information will be provided. Best of luck in your job search.
Plan as if you won’t receive a severance and focus on securing another job while you’re still employed. The individuals who receive golden parachutes are typically the high-ranking executives responsible for the company's management. Employees are considered at-will, meaning they can be terminated at any time without cause or notice, and severance pay is not a legal requirement.
Very sorry to hear about your layoff. You will definitely be in a much better position once you depart from this place. Now to the reality of things. Centene doesn't owe you or anyone who is terminated any severance pay. However, it's definitely a perk and humane for a large corporation to do so. Especially if employees gave so much of their career lives to them. Just think as if you will not receive a severance and secure another job while you're working there. If you get a severance while working thru 8/31 the better for you.

My response obviously went over your head because you were waiting to troll.
Someone lost their job and no one in the next few responses answered the question, but wanted to know who and what. As I stated, it's insensitive and answer the question asked.
I said what I said.
I was last Dec I was with the company over 16 years and got 26 weeks maxed out I guess since it was less than 2 weeks per year
I'm sorry you received notice. The severance package is different depending on which line of business you work for. Some get 1 week severance per year of service, some get 2 weeks, and some get a month per year of service.
Only people that have been laid off, management, or HR can fully answer the question. If you don’t like questions being asked, you in the wrong place; however, you fit perfectly at centene.
Sorry to hear that you are getting laid off. I can’t imagine trying to be productive for an entire month! Wishing you the best of luck.
I am with a healthplan. Not given any other details but last day is 8/31. Alot of emotions
Stop asking someone who just was told they don't have a job anymore about the details and answer the damn question!
Sorry to hear, you in IT, Corporate, or Health plan?
Sorry to hear you’ve been laid off. Was. It only your or others in your department? What state or plan?
I’m sorry to hear that you got laid off. Did they state how many others might be affected?
It was 1 week after my 1 year anniversary when I laid off.
I guess because my last day was technically going into year 2, I was given 1 month per year (2 months) of severance.
