Anyone else hearing that there is a small layoff planned in the next 2-3 weeks?

@1f4 are you suggesting that the silent layoffs will be in Europe ?
Typically the delay in layoffs is due to US and European legislation. The US gets laid off first while in Europe things go through the works council. This takes 30-90 days on average depending on country and situation. I know some countries in Europe still have outstanding actions which have not completed.
@1ac so you don’t know anything about incoming reorg ?
I mean, look at the name of the site. Despite what happened a few weeks ago, there are constantly threads starting about "heard of any layoffs coming in ?"
Reorgs happen all the time. Those often cause layoffs, not to be confused with bigger non-sensical Layoffs.
@19g how do you know ? Do you know what will be the criteria for it ?
June-August will be randomly from Engineering to ops and sales. I guess every department can be impacted. Prepare for impact. I am planning to get out.
Yeah, we saw a few layoffs in UK last week, shocked to see some big names go, SE director and Channel Director too. Still shocks me how others contribute nothing at all and still survive these layoffs. I could name a few mugs that should have gone by now...
@sc cloud is a very big org. From what I know apart from ontap everything is cloud. Every software is deployed on cloud. Can you be more specific what you mean by cloud org ?
The late June cut will be sales and cloud focused.
@s2 do you know which org ?
Last year we had May layoff and then also June/July. Its a small layoff.....i guess it will be the same constantly layoff every few months......dont work for netapp........or dont work too hard for netapp
@n7 well, not anymore. I'm not sure why they keep that office open.
@g8 Wat? There's still people in Boulder? Doing What?
There is definitely a re-org (Cloud Volumes org) happening in the next couple of weeks. But this does not necessarily mean layoffs in June. They will mess things up, move people to roles and teams that make no sense and then cut them in the next round. So if you are moved then you better start looking for a job ASAP or else you'll get hit whenever the next layoff happens.
@g8 do you know which orgs is going to be impacted by the coming layoffs ? Is it going to be as brutal as the last one.
@g6 a good chunk of the Atom / Quark folks. Mainly people in Boulder and RTP.
@ek was there a re org in April ? How many people were let go at that time ?
Oh!
@ek could you please elaborate on the cloud org and under which leader that org comes ?
@ek will it again be impacting folks in the us ? I thought the last layoff of may was global. Why would they do a layoff just 20 days later. Seems like it will be targeted to very specific people ?
There was a small re-org in April that impacted several folks in the Cloud org. Then we had the recent layoff affecting mainly senior US employees a couple of weeks ago. There is another re-org planned for the Cloud org that is supposed to be announced around June 12th, which will most likely result in more layoffs. This is exhausting.
Wouldn't this just be the international folks from the May layoffs since those usually happen a month later due to local laws.
Jeez we just had such a big layoffs and our team was decimated. Does anyone know what’s the criteria for this layoffs now ?
Yes. There’s a silent layoff for late June, already in the works.
It's mentioned a few places in the plethora of other recent threads. So yeah, someone has heard.
