I plan to resign soon and hope to leave on the same day or the following day. Although I know I am not legally required to provide two weeks notice, I would like to do so as a courtesy. Is there a specific phrase that could facilitate being sent home immediately upon offering two weeks' notice? For instance, would mentioning that I am joining a competitor work? I am looking for a dignified and graceful path to fulfill both objectives, ensuring no bridges are burned and no sour grapes.

@1c2 Accepting a counter offer is one thing, but accepting a counter offer and not having the terms of to which it were agreed upon be honored, is something else. False pretenses led to accepting a counter offer.
Workers may be obliged to remain with an abusive employer while waiting for the wages that are owed to them. The fact of irregular or delayed payment of wages does not automatically imply a forced labour situation. But when wages are systematically and deliberately withheld as a means to compel the worker to remain, and deny him or her of the opportunity to change employer, this points to forced labour. So, deception (false promotion, smear campaigns), isolation (frozen rotation under "lacking empathy" for questioning the trap, same rotation for 1.7 years instead of normal rotation), abuse of vulnerability (assuming positive intent, naivety), intimidation and threats, withholding of wages (HRBP admitted that one should've started at the band higher to begin with), debt bondage (false pretense / assumptions), abusive working conditions (not respecting professional boundaries, giving fair attribution to work, spreading rumors), restriction of movement (being followed irl, literal cameras in apt), and excessive overtime (holidays included) is accepting a counter offer, which is a trap to later be replaced?
Never, ever accept counter offers. They aren't designed to retain you long term, only long enough to replace you.
There is no amicable path here. They will offer you a fake promotion if you tell them you're quitting. For example, if you tell them you're leaving because they weren't being honest and were leading you on without intention of honoring their word, they will say things like, "I just processed your promotion". Not a single thing will be truly processed except for how they want to put you in "your place". They will lie to your face. Just like that. If you think that's ridiculous, look at what happens if you keep questioning why they do things, not limited to Ford. They aim to trick you out of your spot and use the time you're still there to covertly plant seeds aimed at discrediting you. Sometimes, they defensively pad files in advance just in case too.
They circle the wagons. Trying to defend yourself after they close ranks out of self-preservation is futile. Don't think about all that nonsense you learned in your ethics in engineering class about going over the head of a bad actor after whistleblowing internally fails. All that sh-t is moot in real life.
Ford is a big company. There is no amicable outcome. You pay the tax. If you say, "No taxation without representation". Allegedly, they'll send the same bots UMG used against Drake.

Isn't it crazy that a "parting punch" is treating them exactly how they'd treat you in most cases if they were laying you off for any reason at all? Just pointing out the irony of equal treatment for the employer being labeled "inconsiderate".
You really want to be within your means to take a parting punch, give your resignation after exhausting all your vacation and wait until the night before you return to give your 2 weeks. Or not, and tell them you won't be in the next business day.
Once heard of someone taking a 2 week vacation to work at another employer. Ended up staying and gave notice the Friday before the vacation ended that he wouldn't be in on Monday.

@OP. You are overthinking it too hard... When you decide to leave, you are burning all bridges at Ford. If you have a decent manager, you may fare well, but you'll not enjoy the 2 weeks notice in the office. If you have one of the many psychos as LLx, you better not stay one extra hour in the office after your resignation letter.
When you give your two weeks notice, you'll get paid those two extra weeks, no matter if you are at home, or in the office. Therefore, I would advise to be at home, or better yet, at the new job. Just say that you are going to a competitor, no details provided. You'll be fired on the spot (if your manager is a psycho), or given the 2 weeks out of the office (if your manager is decent).
Just make sure you got everything from your laptop before giving the resignation...

@ba Just say you are going to get your H1B Visa. They will rehire you in a week! Hit the tanning salon 1st though.
My understanding is, if you say you’re going to a competitor, they’ll let you go immediately. If you say you’re going to another industry, non-competitive, you can stay the two weeks.
Walk into the HR office and drop your pants. Guaranteed you'll be walked to the door.
