Think we’re done with layoffs for now, or is more coming?

Layoffs at Lumen is a culture, because we have leadership with no true vision just throwing darts. Only question is not if there will be layoffs but the scale. There are many small layoffs always occurring that we don’t even hear about just one day suddenly a person you were talking to the email comes back bounced

@qr another new class. Ugh. Prepare for the pure torture of sitting through that. If people want to self improve they will read her books on their own. You aren’t changing anyone by force feeding this to them. Upper management took it and saw zero difference in anything besides more meetings on the calendar. People want to come to work, majority want to do a good job and get compensation. Waste of time and money. Put the money into IT and tools actually needed, that’s where the ROI will come back. But this is coming from someone who just got the layoff last week. 🤷🏼‍♀️

When the "day of reckoning" comes for me, I'll just laugh uncontrollably at them while on the phone/teams when they drop the axe! THEIR LOSS!

The pay and fake culture they promote, su-k. Do not recommend working for Lumen in the constant anxiety-worry if going to be let go. They lie and say no more RIF’s, then rip out the rug again. Hard to motivate your employees. And employees see through this but keep working because of remote opportunity. AI is their focus, they will tell you it’s not job replacing, but it is. The top executive hires get heavier with new job creation but backfill no roles and the front line employees and middle management do all the work and take the hits. No cost of living raises and high goals/expectations that even if you do exceed or achieve, you do not get compensated for because they won’t give you above a MEETs rating. They want you to rate your employees low so easier for them to cut people, and make you rate them lower than they should honestly be rated. They stack rank your teams so they have excuse to get rid of lowest one, even if they are meeting the goals and metrics and will scrutinize personality-behaviors if can’t ding them on work metrics. Bonus and compensation paid out on a meets but they don’t like paying for high performance, only will allow one person in your department to get a high rating, even if you have multiple. If you dare complain or fight for yourself or team you get told, if you don’t like it, go work elsewhere. This company is a mess. The latest layoffs last week were another low blow to some great people leaders and employees. No one is safe below Director level. Welcome to the new AI way, corporate America. The executives get richer the worker bees bust their as--s, drive fixes and changes, for peanuts and a RIF. Bring in Brene Brown all you want, the employees know it’s all for show and money wasted. Give that back to the employees trying to make a living in this economy.

The only ones that are still at this company are newbies. They don't know any better...the Vets are gone and have moved on to brighter futures with some stability!

Last years performance, above average was down-graded to, did not meet, after financial targets were factored in. Here’s the catch, I support sales but don’t have direct comms with the customer to get a contract signature, nor am I associated with a delivery team so I have no way to move the pricing in order to get a customer contract signature.

In addition the financial targets are so unrealistic that the only reason they are being used is to lower the bonus (aka employee salary/compensation) amounts so that the “run-rate” costs are lower and that makes the books look good. Don’t have to RIF if people are doing the work for less $$s.

From my understanding, it will be around 3,000. They were necessary for the new exciting acquisition and the they have to pay Berne Brown for her new class being taught to hundreds of managers that just started. She is making millions while we send good people out the door.

@bj Well rest assure Berne Brown is getting paid, there is whole new course being taught. All of those sheep thinking this crew was different, delusional. They are worse because they tell you they are being transparent and discuss how to lead yet do the complete opposite.

I would say not done. Saw my mid year review and it's based entirely on metrics, no mention of tech.skills. Additionally many of the metrics have been raised so that will be their justification for letting more people go.
