Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Everyone and their mother is quitting

Lots of people are heading for the exits and I get it. I'd leave too if I could find a similar paying job. Anyone know where they're landing? I need some leads.

@15n Yes. Why they would ever have paid an optional bonus to somebody who has quit baffles me.

@15n Yes! I dont think people realize this was a change m. You need to be employed on the day bonus is issued or you do not get it. It’s in the policy so go look it up. Previous years you only needed to be with the company after a certain date- that’s no longer the case.

Do we have to be employed on the day of our bonus to receive it? Or do we automatically get it if we worked past Dec 31?

@kr what blow was dealt to the industry?

I would guess people have had their moves planned and waited to make sure that bonus was locked in. The market is so bad that unless someone has handpicked you to come over to X company, everyone is stuck. Even internal mobility is impossible right now.

Can't imagine why you would leave a job in this market, plus the huge blow that just got reported in healthcare, you'd be crazy to do any moves that weren't completely out of the industry.

The entire healthcare industry is under grave scrutiny. I think that HCSC executives are seeing the writing on the wall and they are seeing the Titanic about to sink, so they decide just to raise their salaries and sc--w the workers because they know that the ship is sinking.
