LinkedIn named Shell the best place to work in Houston! Congratulations Shell!

LinkedIn named Shell the best place to work in Houston! Congratulations Shell!

I wonder how .... just how they could have concluded that!!! Has anyone ever filled out a survey for this? Does anyone know the metrics? Amazing news, but I don't fathom how this can be.

@1cf yeah same here. IT folks in NL going 3 days to office to sit with headsets talking to Indians the whole day. And come early otherwise no desk and parking for you.

Did I mention the traffic jams to even get into The Hague?

Best place to work, sure thing.

Not sure how they came up with this BS. I’ve been gone over a year ago and it was a toxic workplace when I left. Talking to coworkers still there they tell me it’s only gotten worse. Back stabbing, insubordination, nepotism and downright laziness is still the norm.

@18x No, because his stated goal in founding LinkedIn was to name Shell as the best place to work in Houston "even if I have to game the metrics."

From the article: "Entirely based on LinkedIn data, the methodology evaluates companies on key markers of career progression, including how employees are picking up new skills and how quickly they’re advancing within the company."

Constantly updating LinkedIn with a new title (and your "skills" while looking for other jobs) is probably an indicator of re-orgs every other year rather than a "best place to work."

We probably also pulled some bonus points for all the "skills" that Shell people tend to put on their profiles. Scrum masters, you finally made a difference!
