@18a my very regular and very current first hand experience of a wide variety of ‘people in the field’ is that the majority know very little about the health of the business and tend to use one vague example of something they’ve heard and paint an entire picture. Poor me mentality it’s not my fault

@je people on here share experiences. Resources in the field talk a lot more than management thinks, and are very intune with the health of the business. These aren’t lies or speculation this is firsthand information that management tries to lie about and think we aren’t aware of

I agree with the first part. Left a while back. Best decision ever. Same money, better perks, less work and majority of people are nice.

Dont agree with the second part, I posted first hand info straight from the horses mouth or stuff that happened to my colleagues.

Why does any rational person in this day and age get mad when they think their job is not safe? No job is safe, tech is volatile and if you aren’t managing your plan B at all times then that’s on you. If you think the company or the ownership or the leadership or the product or your manager etc is useless then you have only one priority and that’s to look after yourself. And guess what, sitting around moaning about it does not constitute looking after yourself.

Most of the information if you can call it that shared on here is at best incredibly wide of the mark and at worst just lies and speculation from people who don’t know anything

Any of you fools still around that think your job is remotely secure are mad. The cow at the end of the line still gets sla-ghtered. Just a matter of time. Keep those CVs up to date. Keep looking for next job. You owe these people nothing.

Citrix did this after going private too. Not necessarily as a retention/recruiting tool, but more because under GAAP accounting practices, accrued but not yet taken PTO, or PTO accruals that must be paid out upon termination, have to be recorded on the books as a short-term liability. A lot of companies with large numbers of employees in states like CA, where PTO is considered wages, have to consider this as it does have to be paid out on termination. Probably doing it to help the balance sheet look a little better for KKR.

@ee You think lots of hiring is happening, but all I see is a stream of departures.

Meanwhile, my team members in the US are too afraid to take their PTO. Everyone is trying to make sure they're not on the list of people in the next layoff. They're scared.

If they were trying to retain staff they would not be bullying staff in certain offices to do what they say or end up like certain other former staff members who were shoved out the door with ndas. The fact that they have to go to such extremes to retain staff is a red flag in itself. You say they are hiring but all I've seen are fake ads to look like they are, no suppor roles on offer for better customer experience and plenty of other useless positions which a company in this state does not need. Context is important here and your vague interpretation makes about as much logical sense as the fake Bangalore reviews on glass door. Omnissa reputation is in tatters as I have heard it from other staff members in other big players who think the management live in cloud cukoo land, as do i and anyone else with a shred of decensy, intellect and integrity which is clearly absent in this company.

I think it’s the opposite. Lots of hiring going on. A lot of people lost their PTO allowances going from VMware to BC, which then tracked across to Omnissa. Looks like they’re trying to retain people and attract more talent.

EMEA got told they were getting unlimited PTO. Each country will still get their statutory number of days, which would still have to be paid out if they leave / removed. But can take more than their statutory if requested

if there is unlimited PTO there is no chance of unused PTO to be paid out when someone is terminated.

How’d you work that one out? How is that related to staffing levels? If anything, unlimited PTO could cause more issues with staffing levels
