There are a few folks still in the Marketing org who were continually pumped up and touted as “Superstars” during the prior CMO tenure. This went on for a couple of years and the egos (and the heads) swelled to unbelievable size.
With the PE layoff earlier this year the involved egos were quickly deflated and the folks involved came back down to earth, realizing that since their CMO cheerleader was no longer around, their direct reports stripped and laid off, that they had to either su-k it up or leave.
it’s been nice to see these few folks humbled and actually having to grind out work rather than constantly receiving glorious praise and adulation.
No I’m not talking about any of the current CMO’s direct reports.
