I heard similar chatter as I heard last December from some executives. They're starting to prep for a 15% cut to indirect and engineering. Whether it's due to the strike or a scapegoat it sounds like it'll happen before the end of Q2. The further you are from touching hardware theore danger you're in

We had an 8% cut in January. Are we sure there's going to be an engineering layoff? No hiring freeze at this time either

Or India. The outsourcing will continue until what's left in CT is a handful of module owners.

Engineering will slowly migrate out of CT. Engineers need too much money to live in CT and P&WA must pay to attract them.
Much cheaper to hire engineers in Georgia.
Heard the same thing. Cost cutting is driving a RIF in engineering.
Indirect is always a first place to go for overhead reduction. The remaining engineers are too scared to not work 65 hours/week to get the work done.
A VP once told me, "rule by fear. It is a very powerful motivational tool."
Any word if more engineering is moving out of CT to Georgia or Maine?
I support the strikers. The CEO makes over $21 M/year. The people working in the hot factory just work to make the rich richer!
Indirect cuts will also happen as without hourly workforce there is not a lot for the engineers to do.
Something tells me they are prepping for NGAP going to GE...
Give them what they want and ditch everyone else
I heard End of June or early July
