@2dg I can confirm I also heard this story. The date is gonna be Friday.
I heard that they are planning to layoff 50% of staff and that they will hire around 400 cats to manage AI commands and various functions. The cats will live at the Copley office with Niraj, Kate and Paul Toms.
Fun fact: Each cat is expected to be 400% more useful than Thomas Netzer ever was.
@21k As a recent hire. It is definitely that, rather than your incompetency?
I agree the training today was totally pointless, I learned nothing. Not looking forward to taking escalations.
Multi contact training is the worst ever, just went through it today and it consisted of listening to phone calls. Im sorry that does nothing to prepare me for this new role. Trainers need to do better.
@17p wait your turn. The tables will turn.
This is the victim thread. If you don’t like it you can leave.
Soon or later, everyone will be impacted https://www.businessinsider.com/sam-altman-says-ai-will-speed-up-job-turnover-hit-service-roles-first-2025-9
They are moving all the top performers to multi-contact, leaving The average frontline agents are staying in FT they are hoping to thin out by performance. Most managers will lose their teams and get demoted the chosen ones will be left with a mess honestly not worth. Everyone's stressed and anxious. Be nice to your managers. They fight for you more than you know. This new leadership do not care and is running the place to the ground. Their plan will keep moving foward. Find something else now while every other company is ramping up for peak. Wayfair is no longer worth it.
I hate being on frontline. Been trying to get out of it and move up since I started at wayfair 6 years ago. They do not want you to prosper. This place is so stressful. Back to back calls, no breaks, manager gets on you for not answering 4 calls because you need a break. It's so fu--ing ridiculous.
The stress that we are all going through is off the charts. Management needs to address what we are all going through, this is not healthy for your employees.
Same here Im in multi and I have never felt so sick in my entire life. The endless stressful calls from multi plus the escalations. We get CSAT on every single call and even though we do our job we have all odds stacked against us. Something MUST be done, multi management has failed us all. It is a disgrace how this dept is run, we are all being run to the ground with this workload. The workload needs to be shared with frontline agents. Instead of them being "receptionists" let them work these orders and help us all out. I dread the thought of clocking in, I am physically throwing up by the end of my shift and unable to sleep. Everyday this situation is getting worse.
Sorry everyone is feeling this way. I am also in Multi Contact. I've been diagnosed with anxiety in the past. I had it under control for a long time. Since the change from CARE to Multi I am battling anxiety in a very real way. Even thinking about work now can cause it. Waking up for work I immediately feel it. Something has to change. Stress of this magnitude is NOT good for us. We are taking non stop calls plus our care work. They took the title but we still do the job.
Same. Multi here as well. Anxiety is really bad. Not sure how much longer my mind and body can take the non stop abuse. Just thinking about work makes me feel sick. Wayfair never used to be like this.
Working in multi contact is sending me to an early grave, my anxiety is through the roof and split days off is making everything worse. So many people that I work with are going through the same.
I want to quite for my mental health but my family needs the money. Wayfair no longer cares about us as human beings.
Tbh its too late to stand up. It should of been done once they started offshoring after that first layoff.
Csuite knows this and fully intend to keep going down the road they are on now.
They tested the water when they did this to the multi contact team and they accepted it. Now its customer services turn. We all need to make a stand against this. As far as I am concerned they can keep their job, they dont pay enough for me to stay.
Is it true that only remote employees are affected with the shift change? I heard that Athens is not having the shift change. Most of my team is quitting over it. Split days off are so bad for mental health. Im getting out too, its a disgrace. If we all leave they wont have time to train new agents for peak.
