Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Laid of in london - Heres my package in 2026

Was laid off early May and given 3 weeks until 29 May to sign the settlement agreement

My package looks like this
3 weeks to review settlement agreement (no work to do and fully paid)
3 month notice period - Got lucky as this was changed during covid years when they got scared of people resigning with only a month notice
6 weeks tax free redundancy for six years service which was lousy
22 days holiday paid out which I had accrued
Pension and medical insurance paid for 3 months and 22 days

tried to fight for my bonus but got zero

Basically cost me 65 grand to make me redundant in the UK - I was on 140K salary as a senior consultant and I get to leave end of May as I am put on PILON

I start in a new job on 15 June so this is all fine for me and I am delighted

People who are laid off should be using these boards to share what they got so that others can do the same - The time is coming - The numbers are sh-t and they are in a hole with no way out

First of all I carried over holiday from last year - Secondly I was entitled to holiday for the three month PILON which gave an extra 8 days or therabouts

@15z It's HR telling people what they want to hear again. The reality will be different but by then it's too late. Unless it's in a formal offer it's made up lies. All benefits end the day you leave. Although most benefits in DXC are actually restrictions or don't exit but you find that out when you try and make a claim and realise it's more hoops and small print.

Clearly some of this is BS and not helpful

You can accrue that many statutory days by mid year. Neither can you buy that many days to have a total over 20 before mid year.

Are you sure you get medical etc paid for 3 months even with your notice as when I asked head if Benegits I was told it stops the day you exit Also check that you have accrued 22 days A/L as it will only be from Jan 1st till your exit date

@jg The odd thing about DXC is they will happily pay to bring in new people at market rate, but once you're in the salary is effectively locked. You can of course get a new job and they run off in a panic trying to get you to stay sometimes. But having been through the process, you might as well move and actually get that new company on your CV than ever stay with DXC. They will only ever match your new offer, never better it anyway. Meanwhile good people get fed up, stop making an effort, and start only doing what they feel their salary from at least 5 years back now justifies.

I am the original poster and did not mean this to be a boast. I was in Luxoft financial clients working for a bank.

Honestly the work was quite easy. Jira email and excel and some presentations but nothing back breaking

I was paid well for being a senior consultant but some were getting more and I don’t think my salary was huge at all. But just average

My new role pays more than the Luxoft package by 25% so I think that shows this salary not crazy

Was always pi---d that pension was only 3% and redundancy sh-t but I had a good run. Luckily did not by any shares in dxc as they would be down massively

I wish everyone success and well. The job market for tech is on fire for those who have good cv and consultancy work is first to get hit when banks close projects

If you were hiring manager would you not get tied of consultants charging 1k a day rather than full time employees who have a history in the team

@he you forget that all salaries in DXC were fixed 10 years ago and were already low back then. Nobody's had a pay rise in all that time. 50k ten years ago was just about acceptable.

@h1 Some people are lucky. A colleague had made no secret he would be resigning this spring. About 3 weeks before his deadline to resign to be gone the VR offer arrived. Which was snapped up and had left within 3 days.

Just remember if you're in the UK you can do a pension carry forward your redundancy pay except the 30K tax free amount.

Age 60, 25 years service with CSC/DXC, £52k salary, walked away last year with £48K plus the outstanding holiday (included the £2800 sweetener.)
I was leaving anyway when my VR application was approved, so couldn't be happier.
No intention of looking for work whilst my investments and pension are more than enough to see me through.

Salary disparity at its worst again. Colleagues do the same role for half that. Whilst the company wonders why everyone is so fed up with the place.

Good to know that pension and pilon is paid. Does that also apply to VR? I want out. I've done hardly any work this year, they keep telling me something is coming. But I've given up caring, and don't want to help. My focus has changed, I've got stuff to do of my own. I can't just sit and wait for a message that never arrives any longer.

@a8 understand that London is not cheap and 140k after tax is not that much. This post was eye opening about the cost of making people redundant

@a8 quite a few people during Finn oak consultancy. It’s not that much when they charge you out at 1k a day

Who the fu-k is on £140k for DXC in the U.K. doing what ?

It's the UK, you get your contractual terms. It's all in writing.

The only difference is not many earn £140k at DXC in the UK.

And who on earth gets a bonus?

You've done alright though, good luck.
