To be fair he didn't decide not to join he was fu--ing another subordinate and it got out and his offered I pulled. The guy is a serial philanderer. It only cost him 17.5 ml. I hope it was a great piece of a-s.
It cost AIG $2.7m to have this guy do nothing.
Guarantee AIG internal communications won’t mention him again or why he’s not joining. Execs think they’re not subject to any rules, work or in life, or so it seems. With notable exceptions. Some of the best people I’ve ever worked with are at AIG, but certainly not at the tippy top.
@12w probably they hired him exactly for that, he fits 100% into AIG philosophy
JN still getting paid $2.7m

Apparently JN did the same thing at Lloyds with someone he brought in to report to him…
Interested to see who Pete involved in making his appointment or just his directive.
Aon will be feeling pretty smug right now
This is an emerging allegation from his time at Lloyds on top of what previously happened at QBE?
So he was the best pick AIG could hire for nr 2 role? Peter Zaffino ugly choice will hunt him down, afterall he also loves hiring best pals in leadership positions

Not only does he have a habit of Porking his subordinates, but he also engages in nepotism.
He gave his daughter a top job in the communications dept. And caused other employees to report and complain about his nepotism.
Neal's firing from QBE was public knowledge and made the rounds in the insurance and financial media in 2017. No way AIG was not aware of this.

The incoming president of American International Group, one of the world’s largest insurers, abruptly withdrew this week, after The New York Times asked A.I.G. about a romantic relationship involving the executive in a previous job.
John Neal, whose appointment was announced by A.I.G. this summer, “will no longer be joining the company due to personal circumstances,” a spokesman told The Times. Mr. Neal had been considered a strong candidate to succeed A.I.G.’s chief executive, Peter Zaffino.
What happened is he had affair with a subordinate. I guess character isn’t a criterion to selecting at least some leaders at AIG.
All you have to do is search for JN and there are lots of articles about his prior employments and ‘issues’. Not sure why AIG HR couldn’t have looked into this before hiring him to avoid an utter embarrassment that we sit in today. Hancock is certainly the winner in all this
Nice little dent in the expense ratio
Wonder what happened as he has been globe trotting for months visiting different AIG countries and already hired consulting groups….
