I posted a similar post a few years back that is still on this board. Way down the list. I too bought that if you just worked hard and performed, all would be well. I also thought those that complained were all babies. Then I reaped what I sowed when they exited me.
The original poster is semi-correct. But for those of you that like I, were the top performer and were released because my payment for all my sales far exceeded my counterparts he offered the correct guidance. After being the top sales on my group through the years, they realized the savings that could be obtained by eliminating me. Here is where the original poster is correct, rather than cry, I sought a great firm to fight the illegal action and was handsomely paid by keeping it out of court. You see, he is right that it is tough out there but if you violate the rules, that is no longer part of the tough world. So take his advise and be strong and take it to court. You will win there or they will pay to keep it out of court. Thank you to the original poster for posting the need for strength in the face of injustice.
I now look back and see maybe I deserved what I had coming because success made me feel untouchable. Worse, it made me insensitive to those of you that were released. He is right that business sometimes causes layoffs but those of us that had become insensitive to it lost even more. We used to care about each other. We would understand that some people were hurt by this and shed tears because they had family dependent of them. We failed to realized that some were doing a great job but someone in India could do it cheaper and they lost their job as they were excelling here in the states. Those actions hurt and those of you that are still in, be thankful but also care enough about people to not slam them in their rough times. Be what CDW used to be and be understanding, listen, and be caring through it all. Even if it is just a simple prayer or hope that everyone will be well.
I hope that all of you that remain and those that leave all find peace and comfort in your futures.
