Gas allowance

Anyone know if ELV provides gas allowance, for all the RTO ers? My commute is awful and long and my cars a gas guzzler. Would have bought a hybrid or EV had I known about the RTO

@159 it’s called change. It’s not concerning times have changed and now people can work without going to an office. Just because that how things were doesn’t mean it’s had to go back to that.

My office must have a gas allowance because the dude in the cubicle next to me is allowed to float SBDs all day.

We have one car for 2 adults. Never needed 2 cars before due to working from home. I'm going to have to figure out how to get to and from work now. It's at least an hour each way on public transportation. That includes quite a bit of walking to get to and from the bus or train from my house. I'm disabled and can walk well on some days but not all the time. It should be a blast during extreme heat, thunderstorms, tornado season, and ice/snow.

When the RTO first came out, they discussed this. What a lot of you are forgetting is people were hired as fully remote who are now forced to go into the office. It makes no sense when none of the team is located there. I was told when I lived over 50 miles away, that they might expand the cutoff to 60 mile radius of the office. I was fully remote for 10 years when they suddenly tried to say I had to go to the office. Yea, I’d be pi---d too.

Reading this shows how the minds of people has shifted to such a concerning place. You wake up, get ready for work, drive to work, sit in an office, DO work, end your day, go home, eat dinner, go to bed. Welcome to being an adult! Oh by the way, you pay taxes.

The EV chargers at my pulse point are for "just in case" situations, but they're FREE for employees so these stations are always full of EVs.

I want some unleaded premium too

Entitlement has reached crazy levels. Next it will be "Since I can't wear my jammies will the company give me a clothing budget?"

this has to be someone under 35 asking this question. Preposterous.

There is a lot wrong right now and plenty of things to criticize, but this isn’t one of them. You don’t have to keep your gas guzzler, you can trade it in for an EV or hybrid. Millions of people do it every year. That has nothing to do with work as far as responsibility for the type of car you drive.

@bk Not reimbursed in CA either unless it is travel related; not reimbursed for commuting to and from work, this is not considered travel.

@ae9 yes I remember the carpool reimbursement too. I don’t remember how much it was though, I am just waiting for them to stop paying for school and gym next.

I have received reimbursement at other companies for downtown parking deck expenses, but I haven't received a dime in reimbursement from this company even for things that are supposed to be eligible for reimbursement. The immediate manager is so afraid of losing her job, she won't approve anything that might hit her budget. It s_cks!!!

@ar just expense it? Are you nuts - you can't get reimbursed in Home Health Care what makes you think this shithole will approve it.

How ridiculous to ask about getting a gas allowance. I know of no company that does this for employees to get to their job. Yes Elevance su-ks but this post is unbelievable

A question like that must mean you're a staff VP or above.

Unbelievably stupid question. Yes, stupid.

@ac way back in the eighties, I was commuting 45 minutes one way to work and paying a monthly fee to park my car in a public garage - didn’t even occur to me that my company should cover this cost- my how times have changed.

They don’t even reimburse if you have to pay at the parking garage because most have the option to take public transport

No, no reimbursement for any additional costs. The point of RTO (or GTO - go to office for those hired 100% remote) is to get you to quit so they don't have to rif you and pay out SUPP to you.
