Thread regarding USAA layoffs

DEI gone

To say I am horrified even if this is bad timing is an understatement. The only thing they seem to care about is their survey’s. If you are equally horrified, you know what to do.

Yes, DEI is the problem. But DEI is nothing without the loser racists who implement it.

So sorry that happened to you (and grossed out). DEI was never meant to be what it morphed into. What was designed to lift up women, minorities and the disabled in the business word became a cry for ridiculous demands that had no merit. America, as a whole, allowed that to happen and the true mission was dissolved. The "I want what I want, when I want, and exactly how want regardless of anyone else or how ridiculous" attitude is a childish rebellion that should have been stopped in its tracks. DEI was not the problem, people are.

Imagine the level of mental illness one must have to be horrified that DEI is changing branding, but thinking it’s gone lol. You’re not following the narrative correctly. I understand how this manifest into physical pain for you. How horrifying indeed. lol

While I don’t have any problem with other cultures really, I recall an incident in the Plano office where an FTE would wash his feet in the sinks. Obviously his religion. His feet stank so bad and he made a nasty disgusting mess all over everyday. Always slipping on his foot water. He would lay out his nasty socks on the counter. It was reported and we were reprimanded for doing so. All we asked is that he did it in the gym. But HR said no. He knew everyone hated it. He would look you right in the eye as he did it as if it got him off. Gross.

So, I encourage everyone to do so because equality. Guys, go ahead and wash those big Ds in the sink. Take a sh-t in the urinal, because diversity. No standards means no standards.

Remember the USAA TechX presentation (last year?) about how to flee from the law while keeping your job?

Yea… a mentally ill USAA employee presented this trash to other employees at the tech conference they had. She details how she fled the state of TX with her husband and children she has been abusing when Ken Paxton ordered investigations. Apparently she’s transitioning her very young child so left in the middle of the night in an ice storm to another state. Her “leadership” allowed her to miss work, relocate to another state to avoid investigation. RTO didn’t apply to her. She still has her job and being elevated to promote this type of disgusting behavior.

This is what USAA is about. EVIL.

So, this post was down voted on the MEI.DEI discussion and now it shows up here. No one wants to read your condescending comments against women/people of color/the disabled/veterans. Referencing a year-old one-sided article makes no difference.

I laugh every time I hear the uneducated talk about race when it comes to DEI. SOOOO let me help you. The huge majority of DEI hires are white women. White. Caucasian. European. Here is just one of the hundreds of sources on the internet that you can read.
European. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2023/06/29/affirmative-action-who-benefits-white-women/70371219007/

Seriously, some of the people on this feed need to stop worrying about everyone else and concentrate on themselves. It is not your business what anyone else is doing, period.

I think it's funny that every other post on here is about an unqualified hire or board member but some people think DEI is holding them down. Maybe check your own resume & take a deep dive into how YOU can bring yourself up without blaming DEI, which is not just protection for minority employees or potential employees. It covers many protected classes & veterans have been getting preferential hiring opportunities. There are enough under qualified people in high impact positions because of nepotism or built in relationships.
Stop fighting with each other & focus on the absolute inhuman wage discrepancy between the top tier employee (Executives) and front line employees. If the company is performing at a level that the board can agree to approve 3 digital % raises for the executive team, shouldn't that percentage be applied unilaterally to all employees? Costco just announced they are raising pay for most positions to $30/hour. We aren't even paying that for working professionals. Focus on the correct issue- DEI isn't holding you back, corporate greed & extreme capitalism is.

Here's the test... if the BOLD slack channel is still operational then DEI has not gone anywhere. These comments keep being deleted just for mentioning it. There's enough admission of guilt in that channel for the feds to shutdown the whole operation, never mind what leadership has done.

Yep, Belonging is being reported out as DEI v2 on the news and web so expect greater division that DEI will bring. Merit has no place in USAA it seems and looking at the results, "they are as expected."

You legit believe the DIE policies are veteran focused? You anchor on that so you can spew your canned-respone diatribe? You know that's not the topic. To the contrary. We will always have focused hiring of military. Issue is, Wayne eliminated military flag officers over the years as he saw them as a threat. Simmons, Kamiya, Syring, Byrd...it's as if you don't know what you are taking about.

It's not gone.
They just renamed it.
It's now "belonging and impact".

They assure us that the rename has nothing to do with politics though. That's totally true because they say it's been planned for 6 months now. Right about the same time as Butler made a Trump win inevitable. Pure coincidence I'm sure.

USAA is supposed to support our military personnel. It is shameful to realize that veterans looking for employment could be easily tossed aside due to a lack of understanding of DEI by USAA employees. I hope our members are reading these posts.

I agree Costco will as well, but to the point, if they truly believed it, they wouldn’t abandon it. They did it out of fear of being canceled and now have an excuse to abandon it.

Costco will bend the knee also, just wait.
DEI is anti-meritocratic and culturally socialist

Companies couldn’t wait to get rid of DEI because it was hurting their bottom line. Be honest, if they believed in it they would stand their ground and keep it. They now have an excuse to eliminate it, well the government did away with it. What does that have to do with the private sector? Costco is standing their ground. Hmm…
