To the man ranting about his health that’s just life deal with it and find a solution. If truly qualify look for public programs that can help. We all dealing with our own sh-t to care for others. Sorry to sound harsh so much going on with people now everyone gotta handle their own struggle.
In this economy layoffs are no fun downright dehumanizing and can make you lose all that you built rapidly. Been filling in gap with uber eats delivery to buy food at Aldis. I have been searching for 18 months and I am not some lazy slouch was a top performer and hard honest worker going extra mile and working late and extra on weekends. My wife of 15 years left me because I don’t earn anymore and she can’t waste her life struggling, she is a good looker and ran off with some ex from past. Such is life to the man venting, need to find own solutions.

Honestly no surprise Lumen layoffs silently every quarter and throughout in pockets. This avoids them having to announce in public pressers and scare away new business.
This company lacks leadership top to bottom.
I feel stupid for still being here at my job now but what no one thinks about is how it is for those fighting serious health issues and still supposed to survive this somehow even when it’s just you. No spouse or other income. It’s all great when you can go apply and try for new job as stressful as it normally.
Now fighting serious health issues and I cannot afford to take time off for surgery and other procedures needing recovery let alone try find another job. I use every ounce of strength I have to go to work daily. After work try and eat something, anything that will stay down, take care of my pet and crash immediately until time to start work the next day.
It’s a joke to try make personal calls during lunch as my focus is trying to not be sick for 2nd half of the day. 90% of time I cannot eat lunch for fear I’ll start throwing up and won’t be able to finish the day.
Now precious Kate and her buddies could care less. Job loss is bad enough which I am not in a position to where my job will be saved it will not I promise there is no way. No one could honestly promise my illness would not make a difference being hire with AT&T or stay at Lumen. They won’t keep me or take me over neither of them…no way.
No one at work knows how truly sick I am and almost everyone doesn’t even know that I have this tumor or sick at all. I don’t advertise my life on my sleeve nor online. I have no family so no one or no help or support from anyone. So much for putting your life into your job. Now when family and friends are important there is no one and no one is to blame but my dedication and loving what I did for work.
Now the job I gave everything to might just be the final cause which destroys me. But looking left and right and there is no one there or anyplace who cares least of all the job I gave everything to.
So much so I ignored all the signs of my health issues for to long. It was never the right time. The next vspp came or riff or rumors or seeing people disappear. How many of those were fighting major health issues like me? How many kids had to quit college? How my other people stopped medical for illness and did not survive? How many families have been destroyed? As far as this company and every other one they are ki-ling the American people and they need to look in the mirror for it is you that is just as bad, devastating, family destroying lives, literally never looking back nor caring, which stops life saving medical that without it there is only one out come. None of them cares and I believe never did.
What makes this company or any of them who destroy lives any better than what criminals do? There is no difference other than one uses dr-gs and we-pons the other attacks the entire family ki-ling finances, college funds and education, medical both basic and medical for those like me needing life saving medical, etc. None of them ever looks at how this will affect not only those like me but everyone. It affects the families, kids, Americas future. When it is out of sight how easy it is to be in true denial. The one thing they cannot hide from is Karma or the higher power. For that I hope they get what they deserve and more.
My illness is earth bound not eternity like all of theirs. Their joy will end when they are asked to answer for their greed, lives destroyed and all the other worse things they did. For that they will punish for eternity.
For me it is too late now and with this current situation. I won’t have the strength to find another job once this one ends and I’m not in a place I can financially retire or anyplace close to that.
This is the reality of so many as they are sitting at their parties and expensive vacations never thinking about those that put them there giving up everything, working the long hours and who will have no way to survive once they complete this yard sale to AT&T.
It is so sad that Kate or anyone from AT&T will never read this and if they did they would not care about what they’ve done.
Please before anyone replies stating I should have had savings etc. To them I say I did and 401k, savings, etc and had to use it for bills when QF pay was over $1k lower monthly than when I accepted job and then the balance went to medical after I got sick. There is nothing left as you never can truly plan for medial like this.
I wish everyone best of luck and the ride over the next 1-2 months will be more stressful and ruining so many more people. For me I am selling everything I own as I will lose my home to top it off. I don’t know what is worse hurting more from fact I am watching my life around me soon to be gone or the pain from being sick. They just twist together as I have control over neither of them.
