Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Bedminster drop in desks

Supposed to be daily drop ins - first come first served. Well. People are decorating and putting up their plaques.

What happened? Not fair to everyone.

Our CRE person won't do anything about it, because they haven't been given any authority. "Take it to your leadership." The don't give a f*ck.

Regardless of what the stupid slacker at the top says about culture, its "show up, shut up and do your work". That's it.

Your best bet is to decorate and claim your spot with things you won't care about if they end up in the trash, or don't complain, because it won't do any good. Just like complaining about RTO. They don't want to hear it.

I mean, who was sitting in Jeremy's office when he was at the Software Symposium? If he really meant what he says about not wanting to pay for "wasted space", then he'd make his office "open" while he's out of town.

These are the same mo--ns that say those that travel can't put alcohol on their expense report, and then drink $400 bottles of wine with dinner while travelling. You can't expect executives (thinking of themselves as royalty) to live like the peons that actually do the work, do you?

@15s Correction - you need to leave a po-p! Don't take it. It needs to be left there to fulfill the purpose.

@13y they can “claim” whatever they want but the reality is not what you state

@13g because there’s not enough desks and not everyone is 5 days. Some are 2-3 only.

When you have to carry all your work materials back and forth each day is really annoying. Maybe everyone should just pick a spot and stick with it. We’re all supposed to be here 5 days week, so why not be able to sit in the same spot????

People certainly have done things about it as I saw at least 3 altercations and one became physical over an office space early on. Now people have claimed a space and respect one another. I suggest you put your big boy pants on and do the same and stop the bullying.

Place their cr@p in the rubbish bin where it belongs. If they say anything…trash them as well.

It's time to eliminate NJ from the ranks of at&t. I mean, what have these NJ T employees done lately for at&t? We need another transistor type invention and we need it now. RIH Mr. Bardeen.

Stankeybot has been cleaning out reports of actual working conditions. Let me reiterate. 1 monitor, 1 keyboard, one mouse, 18 inches shoulder to shoulder with people in completely unrelated orgs. No office supplies, no trash cans, nothing. Daily video calls to ensure you are in your assigned spot.

Line to apply forms at the door, GenZ!

Go sit somewhere else. Is that so difficult to do? Pretty soon, with AI taking over jobs, you won't have to worry about little things like this. I know AI won't be worrying about it.

Not fair? So you want to share germs with everyone. You know half your colleagues don’t wash their hands, right? Find a spot to claim as your own.

Be a man and sit down there. Deal with it when they come in.

It is "fair game" to toss all belongings left behind directly in the trash, no questions asked.

“What happened? Not fair to everyone.”

What actions have you taken to resolve the issue other than posting on an anonymous message forum to just complain? Have you reported the issue to CRE? Tried to have a conversation with the squatters? You are a manager in title. Take steps to act like one.
