Google "Mike Fiato Allstate" and a bunch of articles come up where he had to testify regarding these accusations.

How do you become a whistleblower ? Is this a paid position?
Look at the horrible way Allstate treats its very employees. By intimidating, bullying, lying to, and sc--wing over. No surprises that they do the same to their policy holders.
That model was never adopted.
I’m just shocked there wasn’t more outrage over this from the public. Gross.
@133+1jv905b0y And I still “want to believe” in the tooth fairy. Stop burying your head in the sand and see this company for what they are soulless greed mongers.
Hi Allstate Brand Management Team 👋🏻 Glad to see you are earning your pay spinning the false narratives shining a favorable light on Mike Fiato and Allstate.
Harley appeared to me to want Judge Judy’s job and turned the court time into being a bully rather than find a fair resolution for the customer. He referred to prior cases being fraudulent and provided no reference and sounded more like ranting to me. Fiato seemed humble and eager to provide information and appeared authentic to me. I find it hard to believe Allstate is trying to cheat hundreds of thousands.
Hawley stated that it is the law that homeowners are required to carry home insurance. Who is going to tell him?
Did he turn around and speak to a policy holder who was not even there and watching from home?
There really should be no debate here, not if you are now in or have worked in any segment of Claims. This has been policy for years. Much more subtly done than what was alleged in that hearing. They aren’t stupid enough to use brute force or to leave much of a trail. 15 or so years ago it started, I speculate some secret consultant(s) must have told them the Claims department spends too much money…..on claims. They probably also provided them with deliverable but cloaked strategies to incrementally roll back the average estimate.
Hawley is a charlatan. It’s easy to grandstand against an insurance company to try to garner good publicity, which he needs.
I am not sticking up for Allstate or its executives. They get compensated handsomely to answer for these things. But let’s be adults and use common sense. It would be bad business, especially in today’s litigious and anti-corporate environment, for an insurer to arbitrarily slash estimates as alleged. If there were no checks and balances in place they would hold that against the insurance company, too.
Allstate’s not on trial so there was no right to cross-examine anyone or investigate the motives for coming forward as they did. How was their performance? Did they write inflated estimates? Include non-covered items? Did they receive any financial incentives for their testimony and, if so, from whom?
McKinsey tactics are still employed. For example, the percent of liability accepted at 100% was measured for a very long time with the implication that an adjuster should be seeking comparative negligence. Having an EC group for casualty that “second looks” files and way more often than not allows less money than being sought. The McKinsey documents referred to “winning in the margins” and every employee saving a tiny bit where they could, whether it was proper or not to boost profit. The philosophy was always to penny pinch which unfortunately comes at the deteriment of the paying customers. Allstate isn’t the only carrier doing this but they’re the carrier that does it very very well and Hawley called them on it.
Allegations that McKinsey model are being used and 100% inaccurate. Any comment made that noted that is occurring must be made by uninformed employee. Claims strives to to pay what is owed.
Perjured himself. Dangerous.
It’s actually insane. We’ve been told to pay what we owe, not more and not less. Yet there’s an entire division that reviews us and short sheets the customer. This isn’t an Allstate exclusive issue but it just happens to be the one in the spotlight.
He came across horribly. That’s what Allstate puts up there as a senior leader?! Wow. And yes, in all facets adjusters are told to lower their estimates and evaluations. The McKinsey model is still being used too. I can’t believe he acted like it was no longer used. They may not reference it but those strategies from McKinsey are all still in play.
Watch the video. Mike got steamrolled
Absolutely. And for Fiato to sit there and lie to the senate should be criminal.
