Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Bully Co-worker

I work with a massive bully. The problem is he is an architect over my state. He is toxica and is a nightmare to work with. He is a bully to all team members. Even the managers are scared of him.

Besides quitting… what can i do?

Submit a complaint to compliance and ethics, technically it is against the code of conduct to behave that way

I work with several of them. Seems like the people that came into Gainwell from the beginning are the most Toxic. The act the the greatest employee when your on a Teams call but when your 1 on 1 the fangs come out because they don't want you to know the sh-t they put together is cr-p and only they know it. I've even had people tell me how difficult they are to work with and how they only work in their own Silo's with their exclusive circle.

@12x

Don't you think I want to find a job elsewhere, absolutely. There are variables that come into play. Why would I want to jump from one bad situation to another.

I would love the day to come, where I could tell a few individuals to go 'F' themselves sideways and what I really think of them. We all know Gainwell isn't going to let go of their sh*tty-a$$ managers.

Jump on the dark web and find some sadistic po-n sites and sign up his GW email for free content.

I jump through hoops in an effort to avoid having conversations with co-workers and management alike. Seriously, who wants to deal with individuals seeking self-gratification by trying to be right all the time, even when they aren't. They will make a statement or question trying to solicit a response. I'll ignore them and pretend I'm busy doing something else.

I don't have time or respect for them.

@149

If that toxic individual is in better with management than you are.... Which is often the case. Face it, their only true talent is BS likability which gets them pretty far at Gainwell.

I do one or three strikes when dealing with a toxic coworker.
I will drop a call unnanounced

  1. Strike - you treat me badly
    3 strikes if I have to witness it happening

@12f Necessity? What would anyone need to work for Gainwell? There really is no upside to working there.

I certainly understand that finding a new job is hard work. But just sitting there and being part of that organization willingly is amazing. It is such a poor choice for a job.

Unless you are nearing retirement there is zero reason to be working for Gainwell Technologies.

@10c

I think like most, out of necessity. Depending on geographics and demographics, other opportunities may be limited.

The better question is why Gainwell and it's managers, act with integrity and honor.

@10a Why are you still working there?

I'm a Gainwell rebadge. What cr-p was going on when Gainwell was signing my paychecks is still going on with the company I was rebadged too. Quite a few of the supervisors/managers were rebadged as well. So it's like I've never left Gainwell.

The headgames, bullying and sc--wing with people's lives continues under a new banner because of all the baggage that was brought over. I'd give my left arm to get away from my supervisors/manager and pursue my own dreams and not theirs.

@a2 100% agree. I have never worked in an environment in which there are so many bullies, which is saying a lot given my history as a government contractor. I have also not worked in an environment with so many layers of management, which could account for the high number of bullies.

@Op "I work with a massive bully. The problem is he is an architect..." Don't talk about D.G. that way - LOL. Trying to bring some levity to everyone's Friday.

@OP if your manager will not intervene, reach out to employee relations.

Do please tell what area you're in. (laugh)

Gainwell has the highest ratio of bullies in any of the companies I've worked for in my career. I think it's part of the management training at GWT.

I'm around such people, that if you say the sky is blue. They'll argue it's baby blue or turquoise blue for the sake of putting you into your place. Or worse, treat you as if you can't speak for yourself or formulate an opinion without their seal of approval.

I've come to the point, I chose not to speak unless I absolutely have to. I'm tired of the gas-lighting, head games and power plays.
