Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Days in Office

Does everyone stick to the 3-4 days in office? Most people I’ve talked to do 2 days if anything - I think riding it out until more days become mandatory.

A VP works from the office see's empty cubicles and office doors sounds alarm people need to be in office. If that same VP sees 12 people in the office, they demand everyone to get into the market. Get real.

@aqk some roles require a lot of expertise and internal knowledge. Not everyone does basic office work where someone can be onboarded in a day or 2.

I think you will be a lot happier if you accept that and not try to bring down others or maybe you should find another role at a different company.

@amh 🤣🤣🤣🤣 They are definitely pretty easily replaced, unless you count special knowledge of how to be a sycophant hard to replace.

@am4 I have to come in 4 days a week. I guess some employees are valuable knowledge workers not as easily replaceable while others like you and I are.

Still waiting for ALL office workers to have to come into an office 3 days a week. Why should some be allowed to do what they want, including working side hustles on Pepsi’s time?

@12n You’d fire an employee for being curious about what direction the company is moving towards? For wanting some transparency. How odd…

@12n it’s a simple question. If 5 days a week was mandatory, of course I’d make that change, but there are a lot of folks who don’t show up at all. I keep my head down any show up a few days a week. It’s just interesting how the rules only apply to some people.

@1ev 🤣🤣 So true! The in-person chit-chatting and the as_ kissing is what it takes to “earn” a promotion. Do-littles are schmoozing for the win! (It su-ks, but it is true.)

I'm in the office five days a week. I'm such a social butterfly, I love chatting with my coworkers all day long about all sorts of meaningless nonsense. And of course my boss and all the leadership I run into — those as--s won't kiss themselves! I also love the sh---y coffee and of course the commute! Such a privilege to needlessly risk life and limb while polluting the environment and ensuring a disastrous future for our descendants. I don't even mind all the extra expenses for gas, car maintenance, clothing, and laundry, despite the measly annual raises that don't even keep up with inflation — I have a chance to recoup all that by mining crypto on the company dime!

@12n "why in the world is anyone worried or concerned about how many days in the office they have to be ?? It's a job, not some spa retreat. If I was a manager and had an employee like this I would find any reason to can/terminate/layoff/fire/get rid of". I completely agree with you... Some people don't realize that life is going to get a lot worse from here when it comes to the jobs market... so be thankful you have a job in the first place... when the layoffs begin, it's the ppl that don't want to go into the office that are the first to go!

Fully remote 5 days a week at home and still more productive than 3 HQ in office employees combined! No drive time, no hour lunch, no desk side gossip sessions and no 3 pm ghost town! All productivity baby! Come on and match my energy.

I do 7 days a week and I'd sleep in the office if I could. Pepsi flows through my veins. All hail Herman Lay!

3 days per week in office.
I observed those whose boss is located in another city don’t ever come into the nearby office.
