Has anyone been successful in getting an exemption from RTO approved under the logic that none of your co-workers or contacts work in the same office? If not, what reasons have been used to get remote work approved?

I am one of those that was hired in full-remote before covid. I took a pay cut but was happy to do so as full-remote is worth quite a bit to me. My hub opened and I'm apparently expected in but I'm continuing on as I was before - the only thing that changed is my dedication to this job.
It pained me at first to downshift into "do just enough to avoid attention" because it's contrary to my work ethic, but as far as I'm concerned the bank has broken their contract with me. My prime hours of focus and energy are now spent mastering more "in demand" tech/skills and casually job hunting.
I have exactly zero teammates that would be in office with me. I have a long, proven track-record of high performance while remote. The bank gains nothing by changing the agreement.
You're posting on thelayoff during the work day. Obviously you're not working that hard.
Welcome to being the world of a responsible adult. Stop complaining show up to work. People like this mentality is why they are weighing down the rest of the hard workers picking up their slack. It's not a difficult ask to show up to work like the rest of other workers.

I find what the bank is doing completely unfair. As someone hired remote… and will have to RTO once the hub is opened. While others who were NOT remote before COVID get to remain remote due to being outside of the 30 miles. The bank should have made everyone come back hybrid or everyone back hybrid and honored their agreement with the employees who were hired remote.
I did quit. For nearly double my money, and permanent remote work, as soon as my bonus hit my account last Friday.
That reasoning alone will not get you approved as it applies to so many people, but I have faith that you can get creative with a medical reason :) Best of luck!

I am at present in office, despite nobody on my team working from the office I'm in. My coworkers are doing the same thing. It's complete nonsense.
I've heard of a remote employee being denied being able to move out of state in order for their spouse to accept a new job. They simply were asking to remain remote in a new state. How illogical, and heartless, on the company's part....

I've seen transportation issues, such as the employee had historically taken public transportation, but none are available at the Hub location, or the bus ride takes a 1.5 to 2 hours which isn't tenable. The manager does have some flexibility, but this has to go up to chain for approval.
No, I’ve only seen medical exemptions
I used mental illness as my reasoning for asking for an accommodation and my psychiatrist filled out a form. It was approved.
