Well it’s that time of year. Time to cut down and the yearly panic for Mattel employees. Any rumors?

Unit gave himself a bonus for his birthday courtesy of the lay offs
Today is Ynot's Birthday......
3-17-2025 Mattel is laying off today. I just got layed off.
Just put a hat on it.
No, actually when you say “that former director…” it alludes to one, not all. Either way I don’t disagree with you.
I said all of them. You must be the “special “ one.
@2sj+1jgy8f8fv Which one?
Funny how one person can have a whole conversation with all the voices in his head.
Seems like some of the scared little men that fed this site over the years have left the building. Literally.
Are you talking about that former Director that has been demoted twice and is now a Key Principal Designer with basically no projects or responsibilities and barely comes into the office?
They don't care who they cut or what ineffective, horrible leaders they keep (or, in some cases, bring back after having fired them once before). They will always ignore all the negative internal survey results saying how unhappy we all are then make excuses when the stock price doesn't increase. Just like Dory said, "just keep cutting!"
On the contrary @16s+1jgy8f8fv, I do understand gallows humor. My point being whether the tragic circumstance warrants such humor in the first place. In the case of what was stated below, I don’t see it as “a way to cope with the stress, fear, or sadness of something that feels overwhelming or out of control.”
@11x+1jgy8f8fv You don’t seem to understand; The whole point of gallows humor is that it makes light of terrible situations while they’re still happening. It’s a way to cope with the stress, fear, or sadness of something that feels overwhelming or out of control.
Is anyone getting the boot? Or did Mattel luck out and a profitable year? Best financial years were 2012 and 2021, that’s the benchmark!
Wow, harsh and uncalled for regardless of how we feel about the c suite.
Shame the tower didn’t catch fire.
Ynot should get the boot
Mattel’s philosophy regarding its culture and how it treats its employees is reflected in the type of product it produces. When you behave like cr-p, your product turns into cr-p. Karma…how’s it feel Mattel?
Get those AP evaluations done by end of month, rank your people, look at their age and benefits, then pick who gets cut. Regardless of how good they are. “AP” actually means “Axing People”.
