@15j The union was going to bargain a new contract. Don't know why no one heard that.

@11t A lot of techs in my area backed out of moving over to FF37, I'm thinking because they realized would no longer have union protection. Fine with me. 12+ years watching techs doing the minimum while getting paid a premium. I happy to be working on merit again and not paying union that took my money and put it in things against my American beliefs. Good riddance.

@11t They bought QF.

AT&T will hold the acquired fiber network assets, including certain fiber network deployment capabilities, in a new, fully owned subsidiary (“NetworkCo”).
After closing, the Company plans to sell partial ownership of NetworkCo to an equity partner that will co-invest in the ongoing business. AT&T expects to identify an equity partner and close a transaction within approximately 6-12 months of closing the Lumen transaction.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...but worse. Dont get too excited yet. Give it about a year for the new management to get comfortable sc--wing everyone over.

@11t
What were those senior techs doing before the move? Everyone in my area was installing fiber to the home back in 2015. Unless they were maintenance or what was left of construction.

AT&T has nothing to do with the new company. There only a inderict subsidiary that AT&T doesn’t want to touch with a 10ft pole and thats fine. They couldn’t name it union buster llc so they went with forged fiber 37. CWA become weak and self serving and many of us are personally excited for the change. Doing only fiber work is easy compared to copper, but a lot of a senior techs that came over with no installation or fiber to home experience have that lost look every morning. Yeah and it feels weird driving a Lumen truck knowing I don’t work for them anymore so they need to figure some stuff out etc….

@c3 received this email yesterday

Quantum Fiber is now part of the AT&T family.

For you, this means the same reliable connection you’ve come to expect and enjoy with the potential for much more. That’s the combined power of AT&T and Quantum Fiber.

Here’s what you need to know

Quantum Fiber is now Quantum Fiber from AT&T.
Your Quantum Fiber benefits, including Price for Life if you qualify, won’t change.
Moving forward, the name on your Quantum Fiber bill will be Quantum Fiber, an AT&T company.
We have updated the terms of service and policies, including dispute resolution and arbitration, which apply to your Quantum Fiber service.
There is no change to your monthly payment amount, your billing due date, or your payment method on file.
Unless you have questions or concerns about the information above, there’s nothing you need to do today. In the meantime, for your Quantum Fiber service, you can reach us the same you have in the past.

The best part—you can save up to $240/year by adding unlimited AT&T Wireless.

Add AT&T Wireless to your Quantum Fiber plan for $240 in savings per year.1 Get all the details at att.com/quantumfiber.

On which side? If the new company tries to unionize theyll lay em off and offer to rehire as contracted employees. Garbage deal for everyone
