Not a safe area to be after dark, unless you are carrying:
Police say a man fired shots after an altercation with a security guard outside a Corktown bar early Saturday morning. The incident happened at around 1:17 a.m. in the 2100 block of Trumbull Avenue near Michigan Avenue. The security guard, a licensed CPL holder, returned fire and struck the man.

@1ax The cowardly thing to do is run, stand there, and next time they try to strike, strike back. This place is usually predictable, and if they're not, they're probably slipping up.
@1ax Thank you for this.
This is where you quit being a coward and plan your exit...or just stand there and bleed and let them strike you again. We clearly know what your preference has been up to this point.
@11m It's overrated, good but not that good, but I'm a bbq fanatic.
@v5 the food at Slows is so good it is almost worth getting shot for
@z3 FMC loves to pad a history here though, it reminds Ford of all their great work in contributing to it, which they didn't get credited for. Story old as time! Exploit -> Traumatize -> Coverup -> Record pain -> Silence -> Justified
@z2 I'm more scared of upsetting a made man inside of Ford. I keep my head down. I don't need mobbing against me. I don't complain and I let them take advantage because I've seen what happens when you set boundaries or speak up. Nothing good comes from this unless you band together with them to protect the company.
but but is the train station and it invokes detroits rich history.........of violence
At least Slow's of across the street.
You don't get that kind of late night collaboration without RTO!
Usual suspects as always. I hope I triggered the Biden boot-lickers.
Did Bill have to go to the ER? Wrong kind of last round Billy!
@b4 I suppose you haven’t been hit by a truck, have you?
@bf great points you made
That guy in MN who kept messing with federal police while carrying a concealed pi---l maybe missed the part in the concealed carry training that basically says stay far away from potential conflict while carrying or things may get out of hand
Don't go to bars, don't pick fights, don't drink alcohol, don't pick fights with police, don't interfere with police operations while you have a g-n on you.. all good advice.
This has got to be one of the most asinine statements "unless you are carrying...". Sir, "carrying" doesn't make you safer materially if you are shot 1st. Should you? Absolutely. But safer "just because"? Might show you don't value "carrying" properly and know what it actually means to do so. If you feel any safer in a "bad" area because you "carry" you have illusions of grandeur and an over confident mindset that could get you or someone else hurt. By all means carry. But don't think for a minute its a safer situation if you do.
I hope the Corktown strangler is okay, I'm counting on him this week.
Don't work until 1AM on a Saturday, stay away from bars at 1AM on Saturdays, have your licensed pi---l ready and you should be fine working down at the train station.... until you are not.
Eh, what's a shooting or two when compared to the wonders of cross-functional collaboration, spontaneous corridor communication, and supporting our company culture?
Employees come and go one way or another. Focus on things that matter. Focus on the bigger picture.
