Thread regarding Ford layoffs

There’s trouble coming

When Ford issues press releases like this and the Freep publishes them as “news” and doesn’t put them behind the paywall something bad is brewing. When Ford is sending out all kinds of happy press releases it’s a warning sign.

@10z I heard that Farley and Martha had some sort of special relationship.

Bill loves Farley because he won’t tell Bill no that’s a bad idea. Plus Farley is a BEV slappy

Who else makes millions each year after the company lost billions on BEVs. The BEV billions lost could have been used for other projects and paid off debt. Now they have a stock price that is stuck as a junk stock. Way to go Bill.

Retire and take Farley with you.

Ford would be in much better position had they given the CEO job to Henrichs.

Unfortunately, the apples don't fall far from the tree going back to Henry.

By trouble you mean "change". I guess bring it on and if it means a career change then so be it. Everyone should always be looking for the next opportunity anyway. I'd get out of automotive, doesn't seem like the place to be right now.

Side note, I met his mother about 20 years ago, she looked like she was 100 then, how is she still kickin?

Bill’s appearance has been a clear indicator of severe alcoholism for at least two decades. I empathize with him, as alcoholism runs in my family, but he has appeared noticeably weaker in the past year or so.

I think I see what you mean in that photo from 1/13/26.

Or it’s for another reason, like a tribute and a passing of the torch to Alexandria.

The right side of Bill’s neck has been severely swollen for past year or so. His skin has become progressively more red and mottled. The right eye has some type of trauma.

At first we were speculating that years of excess alcohol had caught up to him. But then we started wondering if it was something else.
