"This site is probably pretty safe in all honesty but, many years ago on Instagram I made a comment that was just an opinion - my comment/reply was going against what whoever I replied to - and they tagged Dell in their reply because I had in my bio that I worked for Dell. At the time, I had my actual name as my IG handle as well.

A week later I was literally contacted by Dell HR lol. Nothing happened but I changed my IG handle to something else. I was basically asked to take "precaution" when posting online as I "represent" the company.. Yeah, no i dont. If I want to call someone a stupid xyz on my private SM account, then I can and will.
D-mbest sh-t I've ever experienced lol."

You might want to read you employment contract and social media agreement, even your private account is subject to being Dell IP if you work for the company. You are also required to put the #Iworkfordell hashtag if anyone can determine that your profile is related to a Dell employee

#iworkfordell (joke!)

I do work for dell still and, while I love my job, I can't say I'd ever recomend anybody to go apply for them. I may be an outlier here but, I don't think Dell computers are all that bad tbh. Maybe they are but idk... never had one other than an Alienware Desktop - which is solid. I normally build my own but didn't feel like building one this time so... I got it on sale + my discount and it wasn't too bad.

As for laptops though? Dell is severely lagging behind IMPO. While I'm personally not a huge fan of all the LED lights every GD thing has these days, they are missing out on the younger college crowd who eats that cr-p up. Dell laptops are boring looking. No fun colors to choose from. Not fun LED's and if you want all that stuff then you gotta pony up for an M series or Alienware.

HP offers all the "fun" colors and LED's for most of their systems. College kids want to be trendy and a black/silver Dell isn't that. Apple gets away with it because... I honestly have no idea why but, they do.

That aside, Dell just isn't a great company to work for anymore. Maybe at one time they were, idk... but every company has the SAME types of benefits as Dell now - Tons of PTO, great Health Insurance, onsite cafe's, gyms, etc... - So these days, Dell really has nothing "special" to offer like they may have 10-15 years ago.

Anyone who has owned a Lenovo & Dell will wax lyrical about how superior the Lenovo is to Dell. I have been buying Lenovo ever since EMC introduced them 10 years ago. I will tell anyone who asks to stay miles away from Dell laptops as I hate even using it for work. #iworkfordell

If you want to be let go with a nice severance package. Be COMPLETELY honest. Doesn't matter how many times you use the #iworkforDell hashtag, you will be canned at the drop of a hat. Personal experience.
