Let me ask you a question: is defending rotten behaviour part of VMWare's culture?
Of course not, but you're creating a scenario where only you are correct.
There's been no evidence that it was supported and allowed by leadership. This comes down to the emergency call situation (911, 112, 999). Everyone will assume that someone else will call for help. So when help does not arrive, it is someone else's fault.
One rando on the internet does not make it a culture, and behavior that was allowed in the past does not mean those who committed were not held accountable. Those things don't exactly get posted in #announcements.
AVGO is even trying to do this here?
