Broadcom is reportedly seeking to offload two VMware units it acquired when it completed its $61bn acquisition of the cloud platform specialist late last year. According to Reuters, multiple private equity firms, including EQT, KKR and Thoma Bravo, are lining up to bid for VMware’s end user computing business, which provides software that enables workers to access desktop systems and applications remotely, and is valued at about $5bn. Broadcom is also seeking to offload a security software unit called Carbon Black for about $1bn.

AVGO is even trying to do this here?

In alignment with AVGO's acceptable use policy this channel has been set to read-only, and will be archived at a later date. The acceptable use policy is available for review in #announcements-it

Just PO!

Thoma Bravo would be a good choice. They have a proven track record of helping legacy enterprise software vendor leadership evolve and grow revenue from an installed base.

They could show the EUC sales and marketing leaders how to go deep and broad within existing customer organizations. This has historically limited our EUC growth potential.

IMHO, Rob and Renu desperately need some guidance on how to connect with LoB leaders and build meaningful relationships outside the customer IT organizations.

Thoma Bravo has also been studying a possible bid for the so-called end-user computing unit, according to the people.
