Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Shop shut down

The wireline shop in Weston, WV has officially been layed off. They are finishing up jobs assigned to them, and then EVERYONE will have the option to go up to the Bradford, Pa shop or leave the company. A lot of guys there work in WV and live in Ohio, so some of them will obviously have to either look elsewhere for work or take the longer commutes. There is some hope for Bradford Pa seeing as we are the only Schlumberger wireline shop in the northeast. Will update as I get more info.

I went to Bradford a couple of times to work on their VSAT's. SLB is very unpredictable so don't try to outguess them. Their decisions quite often defy logic. I got canned after 35 plus years and they couldn't even tell me why, other than saying they were 'restructuring'. What a crock. You are all better off without Big Blue in your lives. Run, don't walk, away from them and don't give them a second thought. Good luck to all of you.
