I know this is a site for layoffs but wanted to see what you all think about compensation levels here. I think that people do not want to work hard because there is no carrot and they feel that they are paid below what they think they deserve.

We are paid the market price, if you do not like it you can take off at any point of time and find someone who will pay you more. There is so much more in play than simply compensation, benefits, perks, work environment, expectations, etc. The calculation is much more complicated.
Forgot to say, I believe we are 10 to 20 percent underpaid
