Sooner or later all of the non-critical personnel will get their pink slip. You can not deny the oil boom has hired an indefinite amount of non-talented hands. I worked for Schlumberger for 5 years as an MWD Engineer. As the boom really hit in 2010 and Walmart greeters were being hired, I quit. Everyone is in for a big surprise because at the end of the day you are replaceable, they taught you enough to do your job while oil prices were up. That new house/truck you could never afford will be owned by the bank because the fast food job you are qualified for will not pay for your wants.
