Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Fallout after layoff. How many plan to leave soon?

My condolences to all of those who got cut during this purge :(

For those of us left being, how many of you plan on leaving SOON on your own terms?!

I know I am...

Just say "+1" if you're thinking what I'm thinking...

P.S. I hear Rizwan is still around, in case you needed some motivation :P

Hate to burst your bubble, but if you managers & directors told you they don't know anything, they had to so everyone wouldn't plant their asses in their office constantly asking questions. They all knew. Some may not have had any choice in who got laid off, but they knew. What else are they gonna say?

I'm not leaving. They'll have to lay me off with a 6+ month severance otherwise I'll continue enjoying my 6 figure salary doing what I love.

-1 .. it's a tech company .. and it's publicly traded. They have responsibilities to the shareholders and customers and sometimes realignment is necessary. I'll stay because there are still alot of strong, good people left.

I lost a bit of respect for Citrix in 2009 ..

Lost the rest yesterday.

They can try to polish a turd but we have poor products and a lack of vision

Sorry MarkT but your X5 plans have created this mess.

Been through layoffs at other companies before and it sucks. If you work in high-tech, at some point, chances are you went through a layoff or two. My heart goes out to those affected :(

We are in a cost cutting mode instead of focusing on growing sales and innovating. Most of our folks have outstanding skills that should be applied in a much more innovative and supporting work environment. I've made my decision to leave after I saw how nuts the selection criteria for the current layoffs was.

The reason to leave is simple, here is not "Citrix" anymore. I join here with passion and love the technology, but now most of the talent gone. Are we still technical company?

Definitely will test the waters. After all, my resume is now up to date. The layoffs prompted me to take stock of my time at Citrix, and I'm realizing that I'm putting in a lot more into Citrix than I'm getting out. So many promises for growth broken. Just one more product release and we'll promote. Yeah, right.

The culture has really changed from the old ways. This is Henshall's company now, and not Marks. Anyone notice how many layers there are in finance/accounting? They seem to be the only group that didn't get massively culled. However the product makers (Engineering) and Product Support took it hard today. Bean counters escape unscathed again!

+1...Citrix keeps buying companies for millions and throwing the pieces away or giving away the pieces for free. It's no wonder the only way they can keep making numbers is by continually cutting expenses. Nothing more than legal fudging of the numbers that is catching up to them. Worse, they make all these acquisitions and don't properly train anyone. With XenMobile supposedly the future, you'd be shocked if you knew how many people in support actually know the product well...probably less than 10. I'll use Citrix to build myself up and help position myself for a successful future somewhere else.

+1 .. Can't see the point in staying. They have made it pretty clear we are just a number. Even though i always knew that, it was a good place to work, until they just reminded me again :)

Also it seems its not clear how people were chosen to stay, or not, given no direct managers were ever consulted. A review score, for a single year, is not a fair assumption for someone who has been with the company for many years.

Ctxs grew 2x after the purge in 2009. Hard as this day was it isn't end of the world for the company, it's tech, and it's business. Why leave?
