I heard that we may have reorganization on the IT side and that some groups will be merged. This will impact managers and staff as well. I am not saying BD will have layoffs in 2015 but it looks like a reorg is almost certain. If that happens, make sure you are covered, work hard, contribute and of course, pray.

Now a day, IT are runs by the MBAs and they have no clue about the real IT works is. If a contracting firm telling them they could save tons of money by out sourcing, they will believe whatever the salesman said. But in reality, as we had seem again and again. This kind of whole sales outsourcing only looks good on paper for the first year. And then the truth comes out and eventually they will find out it is costing more and have many problems. Good luck to whoever will be gone and whoever is the survives, the road moving forward is very bumpy no matter what happen.
You can sure tell who isn't on the list. As usual opportunities going to the same chosen few. Older employees are likely on the hit list. Word is it will start in IT next week. The next round is due in Dec. in other areas like manufacturing and operations.
A small number of people already knew they are safe for this round of layoffs.
There has been quite a few layoffs within the company specifically in NJ facility. Another huge wave of cuts is expected in the middle of September with the large portion of it being in the IT dept. But unfortunately, other layoffs that are rumored to occur later in the year will affect company operations. LOL and the funny thing is that everyone in the company knows that layoffs are going to occur but no one know who.

The layoffs in May were not the mentioned IT layoffs, that will happen sometime in June. There are a lot of redundancies in BD/Carefusion mainly in IT - and the buzz is, especially where web marketing/social media, etc.... Carefusion is way ahead of BD, so I'd imagine more of the cuts will be on the BD side. It's not going to be a pretty summer in Franklin Lakes.
More layoffs in summer and before the end of Fiscal yr
I hear that BD Execs and Board of Directors will be leaving for San Diego on Friday the 15th of May. It sounds like they are going to be laying off 30 people around the same time. Can anyone confirm?
Well, the hatchet has fallen. We are now beginning to see the layoffs. 85+ people gone this week...and I am sure more to come. I've read numerous places that BD is cheap when it comes to their employees and generous on the R&D and top management. What a shame...we lost so many good people this week. I am sad and afraid for my future.
I have confirmed as well that that there will be a layoffs in IT. More than likely a "large" amount of employees across IT globally that should happen some time in MAY 2015. And this is from many sources. Not just gossip... Because of the large merger.
BD Diagnostics is actually dong VERY well and I do not anticipate any cuts for a foreseeable future.
