broadcom,samsung,intel,mediatek. are they better than qualcomm? as an individual contributor, I think we should still be able to get a decent salary to pay for the mortgage. The market is not bad these days. get layoff is a lucky thing as you get severance package. it is better than just leave by yourself

Just swell, ESL classes for non-native speakers, and engineering and math classes for the native speakers.

Among a group of capable engineers, engineering skill is secondary. However, have good engineering skill is still most important skill to get the job done. There are many fluent English speakers who are not very good engineers. They had a lot trouble in school and they ended up in Marketing or sales. I would say that to progress further in engineering management, you need to improve your English skill. It is kind of difficult to sound authoritative with broken English.
I'd start by taking a solid writing class. You'll likely need at least two semesters. Engineering is secondary, gotta cover the basics first. Otherwise, a glut of engineering talent sitting unemployed will make it extremely hard for you to pursue any options.
Decide what you REALLY want to do. Develop a bkusiness plan. Decrease your spending--and maybe downsize your house. Then do it--while your parents aren't around to b*tch at you for not living up to their expectations.
Nobody wants to share that info because why make it harder on yourself by letting others know where you might try to go next.
